We lost power last night at 4:55pm a brief gust of wind knocked a tree over some power lines breaking them.

Combustion stove on, quilts on knees, candles lit and a bit of knitting while listening to 702 on David' phone, fun evening eh!   We almost ran out of candles but I did have a few small ones which I stuck into the wax of the old finished candle... didn't last long.
Look what these candles did to our Telly, amazing!  Love it.
The Power came back on around Midnight I think, we were asleep by then.
Candles are on my shopping list, love the look of these well used old candle holders, that big thick white candle on the right is just a scented candle, smells okay but doesn't give a lot of light.

Had to add a few photos to today's PAD of our 1956 trip to Queensland, lovely memories, gosh 66 years ago!

Photo a Day Challenge - 31.5.2022 - This is also me.

This photo was taken in 1956 by our mother Rosie, we were heading to the Gold Coast for a camping holiday beside the sea and our very kind father, Rip... stopped at the roadside stall selling Toffee Apples and aren't we enjoying it eh!

Nick wasn't born yet so just the three of us.

Yuck! Yuckety! YUCK.

Last night I had just sat down in front of the telly with my quilting on the go when I saw blood flowing out from my arm!  On further inspection I found a LEECH down my sleeve!  YIKES!   I pulled it out and David took it away then got a bandaid to stop the bleeding, I later found another bleeding spot!

Sooo Yucky, my jumper had blood on it as did my shirt of course.  Where did this little blighter come from????????  Niall our gardener was here for a couple of hours but I didn't work along with him, I only went into the garden a couple of times so where did this little blighter come from!  I know they are rampant at the moment with all the rain we've been having but?? but???  how did it find me and get down my sleeve??

Enough... here's a photo of one of my bloody spots and a photo I stole online, wasn't up to taking a photo of the actual creature at the time.

Just enjoyed a delightful local Morning Tea to raise money for breast cancer.

It is lovely to catch up with neighbours some of whom we've known for many many years some we see regularly others not so often, some still living in our area, some have moved away but still pop in every now and then.

I did mean to take lots of photos today but was far too busy chatting and chatting and nibbling on all the special treats on offer.

But the biggest SURPRISE  of all was winning a Prize in the Raffle, all kindly donated by our local shops, I didn't win just one Prize, I won FOUR PRIZES!

Mike B, Robyn, David and David H, not an exciting photo but just look at my PRIZES!!

The best of all is this voucher to our local hairdresser...  Suzy my previous hairdresser had to give up her hair practice a while ago so it's been 30 weeks since I've had a cut or anything done to my hair, I have washed it though...  I'd been wondering where to go but I'm not comfortable finding a new hairdresser so hadn't got around to it!  Yay! Now I can ring and make an appointment.

Second was a Voucher from our favourite Local Pizza shop... Yum!
We can't quite work out how much it's for??  $10??  $20??

Third was this bottle of Red Wine, just up David's alley.

And my FOURTH PRIZE was from our local Chemist, it's two mugs and two small plates... we have far too many mugs and plates plus I wasn't fond of them, so I gave back to be Auctioned once more, the lady sitting beside me won and loved it.

I'm not someone who wins things so this was one very big surprise, I did buy a lot of tickets to help the fundraising though... Lovely day!

So so so so many fish swimming back and forth while we were enjoying our lunch.  Water was a bit muddy, all the rain I guess.
