We enjoyed a lunch overlooking our beautiful harbour today, from North Head.
Watson Bay Lighthouse.
City of Sydney.
Lunch at Bella Vista which allowed us to enjoy those views.
Just love this old stone wall!
While we were walking back to the car we passed a couple of people and when I heard the bloke speaking it was Thomas Keneally so of course I had to butt in and say 'Hello I know that voice', as I am prone to do with strangers, I said that we would be seeing him next month at Ku-ring-gai Library, he and his daughter will be speaking about their latest book.
We enjoyed a lovely chat, it was his wife Judith's 84th Birthday and he was very proud to be able to say that he was only 83, Judith explained that he would be 84 in 7 months time.
I didn't take a photo but I stole this one from Ku-ring-gai Library. Tom and his daughter Meg.

In through Sydney Heads all the way to Balmoral from North Head.
I'm a weirdo, always have been and here's a story I wrote that proves it.
A fear of Hard Boiled Eggs.
I can’t stand hard boiled eggs, they give me the shivers and shudders
and the smell of them makes me want to dry retch, egg sandwiches… oh no, can’t
go there.
I’ve lived with this fear all my life and never thought too much about
it but the other night I was watching the Graham Norton Show with Richard E Grant as
a guest, then when Graham asked him about his fear I was so relieved and happy
to hear it was the same as mine… Richard E Grant has a Fear of Hard Boiled
Eggs! I’ve just done a Google search
and we aren’t the only ones. Kate Humble
is out there about it as are others.
I enjoy eggs, I like mine nice and soft, I can eat the white of a Hard
Boiled Egg but never the yolk.
Then I remembered a moment from when I was a young teen, I was staying
at Wollogorang, at the home of my Great Aunt Cranky and Great Uncle John. I was down to Breakfast first and from the
Buffet I chose what I thought was a ‘Dippy’ egg, but no it was not… I hurriedly
took that hard yolk out of the white and put it into the little coal fire stove
behind me, then ate the white, not long after this Uncle John came into the Dining
Room, said a gruff ‘morning’ and before choosing his breakfast went straight to
the stove opening it to check if there was enough coal… he stopped, he
looked harder then he looked at me, looked at that yolk again then at me… I
just grinned a little, John just Aaahhhhed…
How embarrassing but nothing was ever said.

Masterchef at work!
Firstly he picked all the basil he'd grown.
Took off all the leaves.
Added some roasted pine nuts, garlic, grated parmesan and olive oil.
A little taste test.
And Pennie made the labels!

I have just witnessed a travesty of bad behaviour!
Driving to the Dentist in heavy slow traffic along a narrow road with a
narrow footpath on one side I saw a man nicely dressed for what was probably a
day in the office, he was carrying a brief case, walking beside him was a young
girl, maybe his daughter, wearing her private school uniform.
I saw them walk along, round a corner, cross a crossing then up the
other side of the road to the train station where they departed.
I know I sound like a stalker, but what upset me was the whole time they
were walking and happily chatting he was walking on the inside of the footpath… NOT where he
should have been walking on the road side!
This is no gentleman that’s for sure!

My Darling Boy, We shall miss you but we are going to be brave just like you... and so on. So loving, makes my heart melt it does.
