Photo a Day Challenge - 28.9.2019 - Currenty Reading.

Currently I am spending many many hours reading so many ancient documents trying to work out exactly how my 3 X Great Grandfather John Rodd connects to the Rodd Family in the UK!  Very confusing but I am receiving some excellent help from some wonderful people in the Cornwall area.

Lovely Day today and I think it must be 'Bird Visiting Day' if there's such a thing.

First up was this beautiful Magpie.

Next up was Mandy! We haven't seen Mandy this year, I thought she'd may have moved interstate but NO... Here she is... Yay!

Then to Wow us!  along comes Mr King Parrot, his Missus wasn't with him today but he enjoyed some native bird seed that I've just bought for them.

The next visitor we enjoyed was Mr Cocky!  All on his own as well.  Actually all our bird visitors were on their own today.

My little plants...

These are Give-Aways at  Supermarket I often go to, I did a big shop last week and got all these.

Planted them and... below one week later!
The Vegetables have taken off but the Herbs and the one and only flower are a bit slow... well maybe I should say... the Vegetables are fast!

What to do when you have a lot of odd vegetables in the fridge... Make Vegetable Surprise!

I very lightly microwaved carrots, beans, peas, corn, spinach, cauliflower then cut up heaps of garlic and made white sauce, crumbled some of my own croutons to sprinkle on top then a little Parmesan cheese and instead of old vegetables lying around in the fridge we now have several 'Vegetable Surprise' in the freezer 😃

I'm loving just wandering around our garden, lots of lovely colour shining through and enjoying all that rain (240.4mm = 9 1/2. Inches) we've had in three days..

This is my Ghost's Camellia, he must have planted it sometime after 1930 when he built 'Glenwood'.  We have lived her since 1971 and this Camellia always grows buds and flowers like these, a bit burnt around the edges.  We've sought help from all sorts of people who know about these plants but no luck!

 Oh look a little spider??

Vera!!!!!!!   David's friend Peter always had names for his cars so when David first arrived in the UK and bought his first car, this Vauxhall Wyvern... Peter called it Vera!   Here we are preparing to head off for our Honeymoon.

Vera wasn't a good car to go camping in, I had to try and sleep in the front with the steering wheel in my way while David slept in the back... It wasn't long before I suggested we buy one of those old London Taxi's with all that room in the back.
We did buy a London Taxi, four of them in the end spending many long weeks, months and the odd weekend driving off somewhere wonderful and sleeping in luxury!  (we turned the back into a big double bed at night)  Peter called our Taxi 'Tabitha'.   We shipped her home to Australia in 1970 and owned her for 26 years.

This time last Saturday we were enjoying lunch at one of the most spectacular spots in the Brindabella Hills! Gwilym found this spot and it's certainly worth going back that's for sure.

Brindabella Hills Winery - https://www.brindabellahills.com.au/

This BBQ is made from old Railway Track Plates, isn't it beautiful.

Gwilym was in Canberra for a few days, at the same time we were and we were lucky to be able to catch up before he headed home the day before we did.

Chicken Breast with Parmesan Polenta and Kale and below Beef Steak.

Looking West from the Cafe we can see the Murrumbidgee River.

Looking East you can see Kate, James, Briony, David, Pennie and Gwilym!
