I've really been enjoying a Facebook Page called 'Guildford Past and Present' which has had me remembering way back then... here is a little bit of history!

In 1997 while working and travelling around New Zealand David met an English chap called Peter Waugh, Peter had driven overland from England in a 1938 Vauxhall 12.  The Vauxhall had died in Perth but Peter continued across Australia and onto New Zealand.  Not long after they met Peter headed back home to Guildford, Surrey… but not before telling David that if he should come on over to England, he would be welcome to stay with Peter’s family.

November 1967 David arrived in Southampton and made his way to 117 Farnham Road where he was very welcomed.

Many airmail letters  later, it was decided that I should fly to England, which I did and we were married at the Guildford Registry Office in June 1968.

David helped Peter do a few things around town, here they are removing a chimney for a customer.
Chimney that needs to go.
Peter is up there...

It's gone...

All nice and neat now.

Christmas 1967.   L - R. Rupert, Elsie, Peter, Aunt Nellie, Barb, Jean-Pierre, David and Christine.

Check out the look on David's face while he plays with Peter's Dinky Cars and Buses and all sorts of magical things.

June 1968 Peter gave me away, even though we had only met 6 days ago 😊

Christmas 1968, my first White Christmas.

Speaking to my family back home in Aus.
David's first Snowman... actually it may be the only one πŸ˜‰

One of our very merry parties in Merrow.

Peter and Pennie.

I have no idea who this girl is, she must have been one of Peter's girlfriends... I had to put this photo in because I think I look so cool in my leather mini skirt and my leather boots  πŸ˜ƒ

After almost two years it was time to continue our travelling... but through countries that taking a London Taxi would be impossible so we sent it home on the 'Orcades'... with a couple of trunks full of our goodies.  We still have those trunks, probably have little of what was inside though.

Farewell Tabitha Taxi, we meet up again 8 months later in Aus.

We returned to Guildford in 1977.

A few weekends ago... we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy these two little people for a couple of days.

 Bye Mummy!

Penniedarling could I have some of your buttons please...   So I made a little pad, Remy chose the buttons, Elodie also chose some buttons as well, and here they are with their Button Pads!  How is your Button Pad looking?? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
Next it was a Popcorn treat!

On the Sunday the cousins arrived and first thing Jackson did was start cleaning Gwilym's old Falcon.

... of course it didn't take long until he had a Car Washing Team!

Beautiful job Jackson... and Remy and Elodie.

Inside the falcon is a fun place to be.
 Engine running...
 Yay Charlie!
