Shopping! This is first!
Just look what I found in Woolies today, my friend Kerry's Nectarines... Kerry's Orchards are in Victoria and although I've searched I've never been able to find her fruit here in Sydney.
We were lucky to able to get a box up here one Christmas several years ago :-) So I did know how delicious this fruit was...
Still quite firm but a wonderful flavour!
Plus...
In my local Fish Market I found these delicious Tasmanian Pacific Oysters! Yay!

Once a year we all get together for a bit of a party... although the Quilters among us get together every second week for a few hours... Yesterday was the Revelation of our 2017 Challenge Quilt which was set by Irene.
Below - L-R - Robyn, Penny, Lyn, Irene, Lynne and Pennie.
Irene gave each of us a piece of fabric and suggested we do either a Row by Row, or a Round Robin or anything we wanted... the only requirement was to use the fabric and include...
Irene's Quilt.
Lyn's Quilt.
Lynne's Quilt.
Penny's Quilt.
Robyn's Quilt.
Okay so below is Penniedarling's Ku-ring-gai 2017 Challenge.
I have to admit that I didn't like the fabric Irene gave me, I loved the Tula Pink Range but the 'Rabbit' freaked me out a bit... anyway I just happened to have in my UFO pile (Yes I must admit to having some Unfinished Projects in my Stash.)
I bought this Panel and the borders in about 2002, I thought I would make it for my first Grandchild but Jackson is a boy and I thought this too girly and by then I'd discovered Raggy Quilts and I Spy Quilts... sooooo...
Late last year I realized I had to make something for Irene's challenge and quick... so I made this Panel fit the challenge and my friend Emma quilted it for me... I also wrote a Poem to go with it, see below.
The Tula Pink fabric I appliqued on the quilt is in the bottom left hand corner of the Panel.
The Flying Geese are miniature blocks in the top right corner of the Panel.

Ku-ring-gai -
2017 - Challenge
Planned by
Irene Long using Tula Pink Fabric.
Here is my Ku-ring-gai Challenge as you can see,
Would you believe, I've been as busy as a bee,
It is my Nature to confuse… as you already know,
Hush now please… just wait for my show.
Peter Rabbit has been with us since 1904,
He is one of those Stars we all adore,
There's Mr McGregor just walking along,
Did you know his first name is John.
There are Animals to be seen on this quilt I own,
In the Garden surrounding the McGregor Home,
A Dog, a Frog, a Chicken and a Bird as well,
They always seem to have a bit of a smell.
All these characters can easily be seen,
In Mr McGregor's Garden so green,
And above his Home looking it's best,
You can see the Flying Geese heading West,
Pink
can be found in the flowers all over,
Growing and growing just like clover,
A little Appliqué has been made,
Using Irene's fabric… I'm so brave.
But where are the Hearts… no where to be seen
I think here I just have to come clean,
Mr McGregor, Peter, Dog, Frog, Chicken and
Bird...
All have hearts… I have heard,
So with Stars, and Animals, a Garden, and a Home,
Some Applique, some Flying Geese that roam,
Hearts, my Nature to deal
with and a touch of Pink…
My Challenge will go to Elodie… I think.

What a delight... I've been so so so busy this morning...
MANDY... came to say hello, I haven't seen Mandy for months and months so it was really good to have a bit of a chat, she has the softest most gentle voice and she bought her friend with her who didn't chat but stayed close.
I dropped a few little bits of ham down on the lawn for the gang to enjoy... and...
... got this wonderful warm feeling which made me think of my beautiful Mama, my grandmother who had friendly Kookaburra's visiting regularly :-)
Flash Back... Here's Mandy, the first time we met on 29th November 2016, she was just a little baby who must have fallen out of her nest and unable to fly so with some help from Wires we rescued her.
As soon as Milly saw the attention I was giving to Mandy... she popped out of the Pool to say Hello!
Just spoke to Simon Marnie on ABC Radio who had a couple of Water Dragon experts with him, I told them about her arm and her shredding skin and was told to keep an eye on her but Water Dragons do fight with other creatures so Milly may have been in a fight. I will get in touch with Wires I think.
