Photo a Day Challenge - 31.3.2013 - Stuff.

Most of this 'Stuff' was in this old oak dresser drawer the day we inherited it in 1971.

I'm almost 'Normal' or is it 'Average'? ... :-) I don't know if I really want to be but that's what I've been told this week...

Each week I do the SMH Readers Panel, sometimes it's really deep and meaningful and at other times it's just silly like this week...  so Question #1 - I'm in the majority!

Question #2 - I'm also in the majority.

Question #3 - I'm in the majority if you add 'Don't have a job' and 'No'  :-)

Question #4 -  I'm in the majority!   You could only click one of this questin.

If you add them all up and divide by 4 I'm just on 70% Normal  LOL

Do you do the SMH Survey, they aren't usually as silly as this one, sometimes it's political, sometimes it's topical, sometimes very serious... but it's always interesting... see how to sign up in the first photo.

Tell me what you call this Breakfast... Please!

Two slices of bread with circle cut out of centre... lightly butter both sides.

Cook bread on one side then turn over and break one egg into each slice of half toasted bread.

Turn over and cook for a short time.

Serve with Bacon and freshly squeezed Apple, Carrot and Ginger.

Now... my father called eggs cooked this way... 'One Eyed Egyptians' !!!    and after doing a Google search I see that is a common name for this dish, how weird is that!

I've made it around my first corner...

Very slow I am but sewing on the last row of white hexagons is very boring!

Meet our baby Water Dragon...

I like to think I'm what's called, an 'Animal Lover', perhaps I should say I'm a 'Native Animal Lover',  I can't stand domesticated pets in my home but do love Native animals in my garden.  (when I was a kid our dogs and cats lived outside, not necessarily locked up,  doing untold damage to our wildlife I'm sure!)

This baby Water Dragon is checking out our garden, isn't it the sweetest little thing, he waited until I went inside to get my camera then posed in several fashionable poses for me :-)  I chatted to him and he listened intently, what a precious pet to have... along with our Carpetbag Python, the beautiful Parrots and birds, the Bandicoots which admittedly bring grass ticks but they eat the bad bugs in the lawn for us, so we can live with the ticks.

These Eastern Water Dragons feed on Ants... (we've been having a massive problem with ants lately so he is very very welcome!)  Spiders,  caterpillars and crickets (we have plenty of these).  But unfortunately they are prey for snakes,  (I hope our Python isn't hungry today)  Kookaburras, (we have heaps of those) and other carnivorous birds.

I hope I made him feel Welcome because I really want him to stay and bring the rest of his family as well please... these are my sorts of pets...  I don't have to pick up their poop, I don't have to take them to the Vet, I don't have to buy food for them.   You are very Welcome little Water Dragon  :-)

Photo a Day Challenge - 21.3.2013 - Working.

This is what I'm working on at the moment, it's for my niece Hayley who loved the quilt top below but it's too small for a big bed so I'm working on how to put these extra stars around the border to make the top a better size... I'm using every little last bit of the fabrics I used below but ran out of the green in the middle above, the substitute is a little brighter... but hey... that's what patchwork is all about isn't it!  Patches  :-)

Outing to Manly!

Today David needed to pick up some rejigged part for the Bus Museum in Manly Vale so I drove him down and we enjoyed a quick lunch in Manly.  We parked at Manly East Esplanade, he bought fish and chips I bought some sushi and we sat and watched and enjoyed this little beach.  You can just see Centre Point Tower in the far far distance.

The Manly Ferry heading back to the City and look at all those bikes tied up along the railings, there was another enormous bike rack behind us as well... biking to the Ferry to get to work seems very popular.

... but look at this 'bike'  It's a very ratty old very small child's scooter tied and re tied and re tied to the railing with about four different forms of tying... :-)  made me smile.
