I feel we've had everything during this Winter, lovely sunny days, cold nights, very little rain until last night when we had the noisiest Storm!  One clap of thunder sounded as if it went off in our kitchen!  Wow!  Very little rain though which we do need.

What's with this weather? 6th of December and I'm having Porridge for Breakfast?

The last time I would have enjoyed porridge for breakfast in December was when we were living in the UK, never in Aus!  

November this year was the coldest on record and by the look and feel of these early days maybe December will be the coldest as well!  Mmmmmm...

 David made 10 Bacon and Egg Pies today, clever man this one.

Rain rain rain rain and more rain!

This is what my phone tells me just about every day, there has been the promise of the odd ray of sunshine but that mostly hasn't happened and if it has it's only lasted a few minutes.
My morning walk to pick up David's paper has been similar to these photos almost every day and even though the paper has been wrapped in plastic yesterday's paper was so soaking wet it was impossible to use, lucky we also have the SMH online.

 Grey, Grey, Grey and cool, cool, cool... has been for weeks and as you can see we haven't even taken the cover off the pool.  There have only been two maybe three days that I would have jumped in and one of those days was last Spring!  November 28th in fact, it's certainly been a weird Summer!

News Flash... News Flash... News Flash.

Seen on a backyard clothes line somewhere in Northern Sydney Yesterday...


SUNSHINE!    These three loads of washing, all towels,  dried perfectly and were folded and put away before another very heavy storm hit the area. 

Yesterday's storm bought down trees and power lines all over Sydney and the State but thankfully not in this back yard.

So far this March we have had 235.2mm of rain in 17 days!   What!  Mr Weather Man do you mean it hasn't rained 5 of the 22 days we've had this month so far, doesn't feel like it or maybe it's just the 90% to 100% Humidity that makes me think it's been raining All month!

Sun is predicted for part of today which will be delightful but another Thunderstorm is also predicted late this afternoon.

 This is what the Sky tells me.

 This is what the Bureau of Meteorology tells me.

And this is what Min & Max tell me...  I haven't re-set Min & Max since Saturday... so you can see on Saturday the Temp got to 33c, last night the temp was 11c and right now it's spot on the predicted of 19c!!

It's 12 o'clock Midday. Here's a Weather Report for my Area...

 Still raining... has been since 8pm last night.

All three water tanks are overflowing...  they were a quarter or less full this time yesterday.

The Temp had dropped one degree since last nights low of 11c.

The Temperature's rising and the jukebox's blowing a fuse...

 The temperature outside on the table, in the shade mind you...  44c.

Inside it's 24c. almost half the temp outside and we don't have air-con, we just pull down the outside blinds and close the windows and doors early in the morning.
Just goes to show how a well designed home works wonders on days like this..

P.S.  At 2:54pm today at Observatory Hill the temperature hit the Hottest every recorded in Sydney at 45.7c, records have been kept since 1859  (omigosh that's 114.20F
