Timmy T. organized us into taking 'Selfies' ... he told us which way to look and this morning I sorted them into a sort of Brady Bunch photo! :-) Well Done Timmy T!

It's been a whole week!

David trying to make my first meal of the day more interesting!!

What the unbruised Family will be having with their lunch today...
 Same year as Tom's birth.

One week on and still so much pain but if you go by the colour chart on my leg, things have to be getting better don't they???

As you can probably tell... I'm so over all this rubbish...   :-(

Home at Last!

Last Friday David and I drove down to Canberra for a three day visit with Briony and Kate, we had a lovely time just catching up and pottering around even if the heat was unbearable at over 40c!!!   One of the places we visited was the Elvis Exhibition at the Portrait Gallery, this was lovely old black white photos taken of Elvis in 1956.

Monday morning around 8:30am,  David and I were packing up our things at the Pavillion Hotel, where we'd enjoyed staying in a really good apartment... then... it's all downhill from there.......

Now here's the story...

I was fully dressed and collecting things from the bathroom, the bathroom floor was dry because we'd both showered that evening.  I stepped into the Shower Recess to collect my soap and container and as I stepped out of the shower my right leg slipped away from under me and straight out just like a practiced ballet danced can do...   Oh dear  oh deary me...

To cut a long story short, the ambulance arrived they cut off my trousers!!!!!  and took me to Canberra Hospital where I spent the rest of the day in Emergency with diagnosis of...

Broken Femur!
Then... Broken Knee!
Broken Hip!
Torn Tendons!

So after a night in E.M.U. many ex-rays, a CT Scan, a Ultra Sound, then a trip to the Ward... it turns out I have a torn Hamstring... which is so darn painful I just can't believe it.

I stood up on Wednesday and David drove me home yesterday... so onward and upwards to full recovery with the help from my new best friend... Endone!

Photo a Day Challenge - 22.1.2014 - Nice.

I know I'm being just a bit cheeky here but...

#1.  I do not like the word nice in the context that means,  'That is a nice dress you are wearing.'
#2.  I do enjoy a trip down memory lane to Nice on the South of France  :-)

These photos were taken in 1969 when David and I took our first trip to Europe in our old London Taxi...

And to finish off... a glimpse of David... walking around the Palace coastline path in Monaco.

Devastating News for my sister Meredith.

Meredith and her husband Bill live in Stoneville just east of Perth.  On Sunday they were given 10 minutes notice  to evacuated because of bush fires.   Yesterday afternoon they found out that their home and all their possessions had been destroyed by the fires.

Meredith and Bill built their mud brick home in the hills of Perth almost 30 years ago, Meredith had her studio out the back, where she made, among other things, her stained glass jewellery.  Bill had his Business office in the home... they lost everything.

Son Ben had sold his home and was building nearby so he has lost all his possessions.

Daughter Heath had moved back home from London just before Christmas and she has lost all her possessions as well.

I don't know how to help them... last night while I couldn't sleep, I kept jotting down ideas of ways I can help.

Make Quilts for each of them, I have three large quilt tops already made and just waiting for quilting.
Collect all the old family photos I have and ask my siblings, and my cousins from both sides of the family to send me old photos that I can put on a Disc or some other form to send them.
Search my home for little things that once belonged to our families to send.
Collect old family Recipes and put together in a book

Can you think of anything else I could do?

Happy Birthday to our Timmy T!

Here he is enjoying a beer or two while Cricket is on the TV!   It's an old photo but it's a common sight :-)

Pennie made him Tim's very favourite!  Lemon Meringue Pie!   Looks just beautiful doesn't it  :-)
Well it tasted pretty darn good by the look of the left overs!

HURRAY... and Very Big Sigh :-)

Look what David just found at the back of the Garage  :-)  Three little Babushkas, and their box, missing and feared lost forever ...

They are now about to be reunited with the rest of their family and friends from the Village...

Waiting, waiting, waiting... looking very sad... where are they?  Where did they go?

Hurray!  Here they come marching back into the Village while all their family and friends give a big cheer!

Now back in their boxes till next Christmas   :-)    And I'm glad to have those red apples back as well, I thought I was missing some of them but didn't have photos to check!

Thank you David.

Lovely Sunday BBQ up at brother Tim's home, I was going to take heaps of photos but....... I only managed two! Blame it on the great fun and all that chatting.

What a funny two photos I took eh?  And there were lots of lovely people to take photos of, maybe it was the humidity causing my lethargy?

I woke up feeling quite mature this morning... after the two big parties over the weekend I guess... so I washed and hung three loads of washing and in between loads I gave the pool walls a good scrubbing... then all I needed to get be back on track... was my favourite breakfast... French Toast, Crispy Bacon, Fresh Strawberries, Yoghurt and Maple Syrup!

 Yum!

Then one of our favourite visitors turned up for a bit of a snack.

Photo a Day Challenge - 13.1.2014 - Makes me Smile.

What makes me Smile is when friends find and give me little Babushka gifts... just out of the blue and just because.

I received this little tin from Emma last Saturday and these measuring spoons from Lyn last Wednesday  :-)  :-)

Happy First Birthday to Remy!

The Giraffe much admires the Tiger  :-)

The Tiger is tickling the Giraffe's face with the Giraffe's tail and the Giraffe just loves it!

The Giraffe was using his tail to tickle others but I didn't get a shot of that.

The Paparazzi were out in force.

This is just 'some' of the crowd gathered in Enmore Park to celebrate the little Birthday Boy!

There he is cutting his Monkey Cake which had doughnut ears which Jack and Charlie were excited about!

And... there is always a time and the space for a game of Cricket!

Gwil and Remy opening Remy's First Birthday Quilt made by Pennie  :-)

The first square on the quilt that Remy admired was the one with Cupcakes :-)
Jackson and Charlie's First Birthday Quilts are on the ground for little people to sit or play  :-)  How lovely is that!

At the end of a lovely party in a lovely park on a hot and mostly sunny day... Remy, Gwilym and Emily.
Gwilym made that lovely Pineapple Tree.
