Today I decided I would start writing a book about the time I was a Volunteer during the Sydney Olympics in 2000. I was stationed in the Village driving the Icelandic Team all around Sydney.

I was really keen to start my new book... until... I dug out all these folders, booklets, newsletters and so on plus I have my Uniforms, my backpacks, my water bottle... oh deary me where to start?

Photo a Day Challenge - 28.7.2020 - Lucky.

How lucky are we eh!  We met on a Sheep Station way back in 1964 and we are still besties!
What a bit of luck that was all those years ago and who would have thunk it way back then!
Below at Newport not long before David sailed off to England... and the rest is History.

Knitting! I do love and enjoy knitting for my family.

Three out of the four Thompson's wearing my hand knitted jumpers with Charlie holding the pattern of the jumper he has requested in Red and White!  Below with David wearing a vest with the pattern Charlie would like, not the colours  😊

Photo a Day Challenge - 27.7.2020 - Pattern.

Yes this is Tony Bonner on the back of the Pattern Book I bought about 55 years ago.  The cover has the pattern I've knitted 7 times and I've almost finished the one requested by Abigail which will be #8.  Charlie has requested this pattern in Red and White, his favourite UK football team which is Liverpool!  I think this jumper is going look seriously cool in Red and White Charlie 😉

Photo a Day Challenge - 26.7.2020 - Friendship.

Roger and I have known each other all our lives, his Dad was my Godfather and my Dad was his sister's Godfather, they were Army Buddies.

Friendship with this Gang below is also 75 years old!  Well the three of us on the right, Sue, Pennie & Rosie were all born in the same year, the three on the left, Felicity, Christine and Jenny are siblings and were born a few years later.

10 Years ago today our Dad Ripley Clements Rodd passed away, never forgotten and always remembered with love.

Rip was in the Army for 25 years, he fought at El Alamein during WW2, he loved his sailing, he loved a joke and a trick or two, he later became a prolific writer for our family, printing off copies of his memories as a kid, his War years then the years after the Army, plus the history of  his Rodd Ancestors, we all have a big pile of books plus his weekly letters to us about all sorts of stories that came into his head.
Rip and Rosie were married for almost 66 years and he died just before his 94th Birthday.
Wonderful Memories we have.

We enjoyed a couple of Visitors yesterday. The Kings popped in for a nibble or two, Mr King always arrives first requesting a little treat, when I find the native seeds he enjoys a little nibble until Mrs King arrives and takes over while he keeps guard...

I have it on good authority that my last post of what I thought was a Fort on Rodd Island is incorrect! Lots of Photos here.

Brother Tim just rang to tell me that Rip, our father had told him this building was a changing room for women, the swimming area, below is nearby.

Photo a Day Challenge - 9.7.2020 - Building

Have never worked out what and why this Fort like building is on Rodd Island, there is nothing about it on Wiki and I find it hard to believe that a Fort was needed this deep in the Sydney Harbour.
