Photo a Day Challenge - 30.10.2017 - Home Sweet Home.

'Nar Vale' Strathfield was my first Home Sweet Home... owned by my maternal Grandparents Poppa and Mama.  Also living here while we were... were my parents, Rip and Rosie, Aunt Pam, Uncle Tony, Great Aunt Carol, Great Grandmother Mamma, and for the first month of my life my Great Grandmother Gertrude... it was a very happy and loving home.

This beautiful home has been well loved and looked after, I'd love to go and knock on the door one day!

Yesterday Grandparents got a sneek preview of the Musical Concert Charlie's School is putting on at a bigger venue next week. How lucky were we! No parents were allowed so you had better not look at this Post Nerys and Tim!!

Our Charlie, #2,  had his boot off this week,  his broken ankle is healed!  hurray and what fun it was watching him in his class dance routine!  Well done Charlie boy!
David took these photos, we were way way back so very hard to photograph.

It was rather an emotional day, there are about 400 children at this school and there had to be at least 600 Grandparents there yesterday, I have never seen so many Grandparents together before!  The school was absolutely PACKED!

The Headmaster became very emotional during his final speech, he was so proud of his staff, his students and all of us Grandies!   Just beautiful it was!

Thanks Charlie... and our last Grandparents Day at this school.

Wollogorang News and Views - 21.12.1959.

I've been scanning some old Newsletters written at Wollogorang for the workers from the five properties owned by the Watson Family... I'm putting them onto a Blog and every now and then some article comes up that just fascinates me and I wonder where the heck it came from.

There have been several on 'The Singer Story', this one I found just fascinating...

Photo a Day Challenge - 18.10.2017 - One Word.

I heard this word many many years ago and have never forgotten it!  I just love it.

The British Radio Show 'My Word' started in 1956 and finished in 1990, it was always fun!

Denis Norden or Frank Muir were asked this question -
Where does the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious come from?

Why, it's just a shopping list, including a remedy for someone with bad breath: "Soup, a cauli, fridge-elastic, eggs, pea - halitosis!

Photo a Day Challenge - 16.10.2017 - My Name.

The reason I changed the spelling of my name from this above to... Pennie is because I was teased with this sort of thing...  You are just a Copper Penny... You aren't worth much, only a Penny!  and so on!   Kids can be mean can't they, In all the  13 schools I went to I  didn't meet anyone called Penny until I was about 15!  Now I know a couple.
