Photo a Day Challenge - 20.8.2021 - Month of Gratitude.

These are the two books I've put together this year, in this time of Lock-down.  I am so Grateful that I'm able to do this sort of thing after a very disrupted education, a lack of being able to spell and lack of any real knowledge about grammar... but Hey!  It doesn't matter once I start to write my memories down more and more keep coming back and spell check is a wonderful thing as is Wiki for checking all sorts of things going way back.   I'm very proud of these two books some of which are on their way for family to enjoy!

My third book for the year is well underway and is going to take a long long time but I'm loving it!

Look what I found while digging around in old photo albums upstairs...

Newport Beach in November 1970, David's Birthday and just 9 days after arriving home from three years enjoying our overseas adventures.

Mama, my cousin Andrew, Great Aunt Carol and my dad Rip.

Far left my mum Rosie, Uncle Mick standing, my sister Meredith behind him and Rip again.

Meredith, Mick, Wendy, Tim and just a glimpse of Mama.

My cousin Sue and our Mama.

David cutting his cake 🎂  Then after cutting the cake it's time for a game of Chess!

Tim and David on front verandah.

Where were you Nick?

What did you enjoy for breakfast today Penniedarling?

Much tighter Lockdown in the whole of NSW now... so what's a girl to have for breakfast, something that is totally 'out of left field' as they say, whoever 'they' are.  Something I've never had before is the way to go I thought.

Crumpets, Yoghurt, Berries, Maple Syrup with a chopped Orange from Nerys and Tim's tree and my own Apple, Carrot and Ginger Juice.  Not bad but it might be a while before I do this breakfast again.

All overseen by my beautiful Daffodils!

Grateful to be able to make up some recipes that turn out delicious.

#1.  Vegetable Surprise - this weeks is one of the very bestest that's for sure.  I grab all the left over vegetables from the fridge, chop and lightly microwave while making a white sauce using lots of garlic and a little grated Parmesan cheese then a lot more Parmesan on top.  In the fridge or freezer until use.

#2.  Apple Paste, not happy with the recipe I used this time, just a tad runny still tastes delish though, great with cheese or with some yoghurt.

#3.  Jelly Jelly Jelly always good in your Belly 😃

How wonderful is it that friends of mine send me a photo of Babushkas when they spy them on one of their outings, thanks Loz always very grateful!

Loz spotted one of these white Babushkas in a shop window in Wellington,  she is very good at this sort of thing but I wasn't sure what it was because as you can see below, One white Babushka set is Measuring Cups like the red ones are but... one of these White Babushkas is a Timer!  Yay! I have both.
Just a tad hard to photograph but I've managed to grab a photo of the each of the inside sizes of these measuring cups - Large top and bottom then Middle top and bottom and Small Top and Bottom.
And... no I've never used any of them, how could I, they are beautiful gifts from family and friends.

Forgot to show you the cups.

So grateful that we have such a terrific post office at our local shops and we can send a little parcel to each of our Grandchildren with something I know they love... Penniedarling's Peanut Butter Cookies.  We haven't been able to cuddle our Grandies what seems a very very long time now...  plus a couple of quilts posted off to two of my Great Nieces in Brisbane, who I've never even met!

Photo a Day Challenge - 11/8/2021 - Month of Gratitude.

So Grateful to my cousin Simon who found the negatives of these beautiful and very heart warming photos, they would have been taken in our garden, where the tennis court now is, back in February 1976, we're celebrating my Mama's 80th Birthday, those two adoring Great Grandchildren are Nerys and Tomos, just look at their faces and that of Mama's as well... soo lovely.

That's Penniedarling in the first photo with short hair!  David behing and my favourite Uncle Tony kneeling down, probably lighting the candles.
