Happy 4th Birthday to Mandy.
Mandy fell out of her nest on this day exactly 4 years ago, Niall found her then David wrapped her up and took her to our local Vets who checked her over and called WIRES who came around and showed us how to look after her. We made her a new nest with lots of dried grasses in the bottom and watched as her mother attended to her every need and we watched her grow.
In mid December our family all headed to Hamilton Island for a week and Alda, our next door neighbour let us know that Mandy had flown off, but only a day or two after our return there she was high up in one of our trees saying Hello... with her mother by her side!
Over the months Mandy visited often with Mother watching out for her but in the past two years Mandy has come for a visit on her own, if I don't notice her she calls in a very soft 'Who ha' and enjoys a little nibble of meat. Such a joy and honour!

This is a Grab I took of one of the many many beautiful photos of stone fruit on my friend Kerry's 'Sharp Fruit' Website, I still find it amazing that so much and so many different stone fruits can be grown in Victoria and are available in our shops in Sydney... How lucky are we all eh!
Check them out... Sharp Fruit.

Lovely to be able to celebrate David's 78th Birthday and Gwilym's 40th Birthday yesterday only half our family this time though.
The fish shop sliced open the Morton Bay bugs for me which was so much better than trying to do this ourselves, Gwilym added some garlic and butter and they were BBQed on the Kamado.Briony had already sent David two enormous Octopus along with some other yummy seafood's so Gwilym looked up how to cook them which started with boiling but I didn't see the rest, they were just beautiful.
Seriously delicious lunch that's for sure, especially with a little sparkling soda water for me!
Pennie, Remy and Jackson... photo taken by Charlie on other side of bench.
Gwilym had a lot of help opening his pressies.
A few Babushkas were played with.
Two beautiful families on their way home after a lovely day.

I looked up the history of these chairs and found that they were first built in the years 1890 to 1919 in Austria, I found one for sale in the Netherlands costing A$814 or shipped to Australia A$1,668 it is in better condition than ours is though.

Photo a Day Challenge - 8.11.2020 - Favourite Word.
PooPooToShirley
This word came into my families vocab in the late 1950's. Our Great Aunt Nancy aka Cranky was a great traveller and not only did she send us kids 100's of postcards from all the different countries she visited she would tell us stories of her experiences when she was home in Aus and this one is the best... well in my honest opinion.
Cranky and our cousin Sue were on the top deck of a Double Decker bus driving down Park Lane, London when they saw a youngish rather large woman skipping along singing... PooPooToShirley, PooPooToShirley, PooPooToShirley, PooPooToShirley,
and at the same time lifting her skirts up way above her head.
I've always loved this story and this word has become one of my most common and favourites. The blog I put together of these 320 Postcards has been archived by the National Library
