Photo a Day Challenge - 4.9.2024 - A Playground.

What a wonderful playground we had long ago.   Nerys and Tomos enjoying a seesaw made by David, a paddle pool, a Cubby house also made by David and our first sheep who was named Susie by Nerys.

Lots going on here today...

David mowed up the leaves from the tennis court.
Charlie is cleaning up the vines on our pergola.
And there's a couple of blokes mending the leaky roof next door.

A little bit of moving things around has happened during the past couple of days..

The photos of our family all wrapped in their quilts have come down from where they were under David's Leyland bus... then...
Waiting waiting to see what goes in in this space???

Hurray!  at last, this old Surrey Bus Destination Roll has gone up in our family room!  Why you ask, haven't we got enough already??  Well  this one is very special, my fathers name was Ripley Clements Rodd, his fathers name was Clements Ripley Rodd... both these first two names are the surnames of women who married the Rodd or Robertson side of our family.  Anna Maria Riley was my 3rd Great Grandmother, born in Plashett, Essex in 1784, married Sir James Robertson and moved to Australia in 1822.  Ripley is the name of the town just north of Guildford, Surrey where David and I were married many many moons ago, we lived in Guildford in 1968 and again for a couple of years in the late 1970's.  Plus... my brother is Timothy Ripley and my grandson Charlie Ripley, we just love this name thats for sure.

So this lovely old destination roll brings us great and fond memories.

The photos of our family wrapped in their quilts now live under another couple of the quilts I've made.
Elodie and Remy are now under my tiny Babushkas... and the three little signs are under our old, never worked clock and the barometer.

David and Wheels in Motion poster hasn't been forgotten.

While wandering around looking for shadows I came across this!
Took me a moment to work out what it is... of course it's the Chimney!

Waiting waiting waiting for the Plummer to come back.

This is what happens when you plant lots of trees whose roots get in way of a flushing toilet.

Still love those big trees though and below on my Sewing Room floor!

Beautiful Lemon Scented Gums.

Gollygosh what a busy morning we've had.

Gwilym arrived in David's van full, for the second time... of stuff that was in their garage which has now been pulled down and a new one will be built.
Lucky we have room in our garage to store all this 'stuff'.

What a beautiful piece of timber.
Then my order from Wollies arrived, almost finished putting away...

Next the Plumber arrived to try and work out why our downstairs Loo is blocked.

Gwilym pruned my beautiful Bonsai, a Morton Bay Fig that my lovely Mama started more than 50 years ago.
First to depart were David and Gwilym, David to the Fleet and Gwil home... then after I paid him, the Plumber departed so now I'm home alone 😊

52 Years yesterday we moved into our first home.

Leaving our flat in Roseville with the help of friends Neill and Sally!  We had a Falcon plus our London Taxi.

Our home for almost 10 years 2 of which we lived in England.

In 1981 we moved into our new home behind.

Not long after we'd moved in our first Double Decker Bus arrived also with the help from Neill.
