Photo a Day Challenge - 2/11/2022 - Book Cover.

I put this book together for our 40th Wedding Anniversary... Wow thats 14 years ago.  I typed up all the handwritten letters David wrote to me from Australia, New Zealand and England while I was in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra... starting in 1966 to just before we married in 1968.

Below is a copy of the letter I received after sending a copy to the State Library where it's kept along with about 30 years of my Christmas Cards and a copy of Mystory.

PAD June is 'Grateful Month' 23.6.2022 - So Grateful that our Mum Rosie saved lots of love letters from our Dad Rip.

These were written by Rip to Rosie when he was at El Alamein during WW2 in 1943 before they were married, so lovely and sweet and beautiful.

We are fascinated by the stamp, it's Australian and cost 1d (One Penny) with the Queen Mother Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon on it, the Queen Mother lived to be 101 and a half years old when she passed.

These were in my Aunt Pam's collection, how lovely to be reunited with them, starting from 1968.

Photo a Day Challenge - 11.7.2019 - My (husband's) Handwriting, well not exactly but the letters he wrote... plus Aunty Cranky's Handwriting.

Here are the 84 letters David wrote to me before we married.
I typed them all up and gave him this book for our 40th Wedding Anniversary... and there is a Copy in the NSW Library.  Not showing you my handwriting it never was very readable and now it's really unreadable!

Then I just remembered this beautiful handwriting, postcards sent to me by my Great Aunt Nancy aka Cranky.  How exciting it was to receive one of these back in 1957 to 1962, she did spend a lot of time overseas did my Aunty Cranky and in style too.

Not only was Cranky generous with postcards she was just as generous with gifts as well.

When Rip and Rosie were moving into a retirement place Rosie was going to throw these Postcards out but I managed to get to keep them, I found 320 postcards sent to myself and my four siblings during these five years of Cranky's travels which I scanned and put into a Blog back in 2013 which was archived by the National Library of Australia, you can see more if you like at
