So proud of our Teenager...
Now that Jack is 13, he can have a Face Book account! Wow! I love his first post...
'I am astonished with what I got for my birthday!'
I think he likes his gift don't you, and his parents love that the sound he makes is silent when he plugs in the headphones, clever eh!

How lovely :-)
Our small local Quilting Group have a challenge each year, last year it was my turn to choose the challenge and I said... 'Make a soft toy for someone you know or for Charity.' And this is what we made. I made the quilts at the back and most of the little knitted dolls from old scraps of wool I had left over after years of knitting.
Anyway... eventually I got around to donating them! I got in touch with Hornsby Hospital and they said they would love our gifts, so I packed them up and took them up a week or so ago.
The Ladies in the Gift Shop were so excited by our donation it was just wonderful... then I received this lovely letter :-)
I must see what else I can make for them.
And many thanks to my Ku-ring-gai SCQuilter Group.

How refreshing! Today's Sydney Morning Herald has no PM's, No Wars, No Murders, No horrible disgusting things in the first few pages of this mornings paper!
Wonderful story about Michael Ascharsobi, fabulous to read. Abortions over the phone, now that has to be clever, makes one wonder if it's a bit like 3D printing... oh and penalty rates, that old chestnut!
Page 2 & 3. Happy Hindu's Celebrate! More Sharks means clean water doesn't it and the results of the tagging are really interesting. The fishy friends story is very interesting. The ex- not getting money is very confusing but Kate McClymont is fantastic as usual, I do so admire this journalist!
So we get to Page 4 before we get to see a Pollie! The story is a rather fun one though and the other stories? so-so.
Pages 6 & 7... the two top stories are great especially the one on the right! What a wonderful person is Michael, we are so lucky he made it to Australia!

We have a Teenager in our family... well almost, just a day to go, but the we Partied yesterday.
Everything is ready for the big Party! Balloons, Ladder, Pool Table and the most important guest... Gwilym's Ford Falcon... with three helpers waiting, waiting and waiting.
Here they are... they didn't even make it down the Driveway!
Soccer on the Tennis Court under Tim's excellent tuition.
While the Mummy and the Uncle have a little quiet game of Pool.
Then someone said... FOOD!!
After some refreshments... There was a bit of Darts and a bit of pool and a bit of this Soccer game.
Then there was Cake...
... made by the Mummy.
Happy Birthday to you Jackson.
Do you want to know what Jack is really looking forward to doing tomorrow... Joining Face Book that's what :-)

Jack Cuts the Cake.
Photo Oportunity beside the much admired and envied Ford Falcon!
I have to add... these boys were the most beautiful, well behaved with the most excellent manners of any group of 13 year old's you could meet. What a pleasure it was to meet the ones I didn't already know. I know they might not look it in these photos... but they were just great!
There was a naughty photo bomber as well.....

The next day, after a Sleep-over we all enjoyed a bit of Babushka, Brunch and some present opening.
Charlie and Remy were first up at just after 8am, I wasn't far behind but it was Charlie who took Remy to the toilet :-)
1. Remy's favourite Mooks Babushka with some help from Charlie.
2. What's left over of our Birthday Brunch of... Berry Smoothies, Crab and Corn Fritters, Roast Roma Tomatoes, Jason's Bacon and Hash Browns and later Fresh Berries.
3., 4., & 5. Nine starving family members.
6. What a MESS!
Then it was time for some presents.
Nerys had this brilliant idea of asking family members to send me a photo of themselves at 13 and some advice they would have liked as they went into their teens... I made the book up and it turned out a lot of fun as well as a bit of a tear-jerker :-)
1. Nerys explains the book to Jackson.
2. Jack with his book
3. Jack to Dad! 'What's with the Hair?' very funny... :-)
4. Jack reading his Godfathers Advice which is... 'Become a motorcyclist, kiss lots of girls, live now, worry later, from your Pommy Godfather.
Here is Tim singing his advice to Jackson...
The Brunch was to Celebrate Nerys' birthday coming up next week... she got a few little presents as well :-) including this one bought by David at the Orange Grove Markets... ooopps the price is still on it!!
Garage all tidy... the party must be over.... till next time! Bye...

Loving Ancestry.com and my friend Smurray!
I've just enjoyed a fun hour or two on a Cobcroft search.
A friend of mine sent me an article from last Sunday's Daily Telegraph 'Hot Auctions'. The article says 'Listowel', 327 Edgecliff Road, Woollahra was... 'Built in the early 1930's for well-known Sydney Family the Cobcroft's....' I did a search on my Ancestry.com and found that Arthur John Cobcroft lived at 343 Edgecliff Road in 1930. Then in 1934 the Electoral Rolls tell me he lived at 327 Edgecliff Road.
Last weekend this home was passed in at just over $16 million! Wow! Have a little look at it HERE...http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-woollahra-120521845
Arthur John Cobcroft was my 2nd Cousin 3x Removed, bit distant but it was a fun search.
Thanks Smurray :-)

After today's earlier post I got to thinking... Hey! I think I am weird, seriously weird!
Here is a photo of the most recent proof of my seriously weirdness... three delicious pieces of home-made Passionfruit Slice.
Last night I was out at our small local Quilting Group, we meet at each others homes every second Wednesday and last night it was Irene's turn. Now each and everyone of our little group are excellent cooks, see above for the the proof of this statement, well 1/8th of the proof.
Now I am finding, in my maturing age that I enjoy a light early evening meal and if I eat anything as delicious as this (slice above) late in the evening I have digest problems and don't sleep well. Irene is so kind she gave me a doggy bag, one piece for me, one for David and one for us to fight over! :-) We are looking forward to enjoying our slice later this afternoon.
When I looked at this delicious treat this morning... I said to David that I was worried at my serious Weirdness... #1. I don't drink Tea of Coffee. #2. I don't drink Alcohol. #3. I can't eat Onions, Capsicum or too much Tomato. #4. I don't like cooked fish, I prefer it raw. #5. I don't manage a normal sized evening meal. #6. I sleep naked with no Electric Blanket and the window beside me open... see what I mean about being Weird!
To which he did what he often does... headed for the Dictionary! Some I liked some I didn't.
I'm going to reject... Strange, Different and Special.
and I'm going to think about being... Fantastic or Bizarre!

Am I a little bit naughty... or am I... bad bad bad...
I found this Sydney Morning Herald deep in the hedge this morning, actually I noticed it there a couple of weeks ago but couldn't reach it, so I just picked up today's Herald but then thought... now here's where the naughty comes in... I could give this old paper to David and see how long it takes for him to notice it's not new news! So I went back inside and got the long tongs and managed to reach this paper, I hid today's paper and presented this old one to David.
The suspense was agonizing, here he is calmly reading, what he thinks is today's paper.
Of course, when the flash went off David asked why I was taking a photo so I just said I needed a photo for the Photo a Day Challenge of a loving husband... yes I'm also a crawler.
David said I didn't get his best side so asked me to take another :-) Lovely isn't he.
When he got up to get his coffee I quickly took a photo of the date of the paper, I didn't know exactly how old it was because it was tightly wrapped and I wanted him to unwrap it.
This paper is dated Friday 28th August, today is Thursday 24th September... so this paper is almost 4 weeks old.
I waited and waited and waited... then I couldn't help myself I started giggling...
Eventually I said to David, look at the date on this paper!
Yes he said, August the 28th what's wrong with that?
Result of this silly prank of mine... All I have to do now is to dig out an old paper, wrap it in plastic and present it to David each day! He won't notice... although when we looked deeper into this newspaper our Prime Minister quoted was different to our PM is today, but that's about all.
