How do you judge if a Party was a good one or not so good??

Well I judge from not only the happy sounds of people chatting, greeting, laughing and well behaved children but I also judge another couple of ways...

1.   The number of times I have to fill up the non alcoholic Punch Bowl...  Last Saturday it was three times (That is GOOD, very good but it is a lovely punch... 1 bottle each of Lemonade, Ginger Ale and Soda Water a carton of Fruit Punch and some berries thrown in, easy peasy)

2.   How full the bottles and cans bin is...  Last Saturday it went from empty to almost the top ( That is very GOOD!)

3.  I also judge a party on the number of toilet rolls that guests used... Last Saturday it was only two and a half...   Mmmmm.... 50 guests including 17 children and one teenager... should be more than that I think, maybe that was why the pool was cloudy the next morning!     All clear again now though  :-)

Party Time...

We invited a few people around for a sausage, a bit of bread, some lettuce and some sauce yesterday.

Here are most of them together for a photo.   We have family, long time friends and old school friends.

We also offered a non alcoholic Punch... which of course had the children wondering...  'What do you mean do we want a Punch??'

So off to Wiki first thing this morning...
The word punch is a loanword from Sanskrit पञ्च (pañc), meaning "five", as the drink was originally made with five ingredients: alcohol, sugar, lemon, water, and tea or spices.[4][5]

So the English bought 'Punch' back from India.  Glad I know that now.

Harrie on the right was the only 'teenager'... not for long though Harrie.

Harrie very quickly became the leader of the pack and was followed around by adoring fans.

Dom, one of Tom's school friends, the others you know :-)

Juris is a school friend of David's, Peter is a school friend of Tom's and Al is a long time friend of ours... 43 years long.

Kids!

Some of us here... who shall remain nameless... met in the year of our birth 1945, which means that this year we will do a big ZERO!!

So many lovely people and the most amazing thing about this party is that there were 18 children present, (oooppps 17 and one teenager I mean)  and you would never have known, other than the happy sounds in the pool or on the tennis court or seen munching a sausage,  they were the best behaved Children in the whole wide world!

I could have taken a lot more photos but people wanted to talk to me and so on...  you know how it is...

Happy First Birthday to Remy!

The Giraffe much admires the Tiger  :-)

The Tiger is tickling the Giraffe's face with the Giraffe's tail and the Giraffe just loves it!

The Giraffe was using his tail to tickle others but I didn't get a shot of that.

The Paparazzi were out in force.

This is just 'some' of the crowd gathered in Enmore Park to celebrate the little Birthday Boy!

There he is cutting his Monkey Cake which had doughnut ears which Jack and Charlie were excited about!

And... there is always a time and the space for a game of Cricket!

Gwil and Remy opening Remy's First Birthday Quilt made by Pennie  :-)

The first square on the quilt that Remy admired was the one with Cupcakes :-)
Jackson and Charlie's First Birthday Quilts are on the ground for little people to sit or play  :-)  How lovely is that!

At the end of a lovely party in a lovely park on a hot and mostly sunny day... Remy, Gwilym and Emily.
Gwilym made that lovely Pineapple Tree.

Lunch At Pennie and David's for some of the Family.

While I was making my World Famous Crash Hot Potatoes...

Two little boys, who had a sleep over,  were playing games on the computers.

Then Pennie started making Toffee Shards for the Dessert, but along came her little helper who thought the sugar and water mix needed stirring  -  - - - -  ruined Toffee!    a lesson for David  :-)
And a lesson for anyone else who's never made toffee!    This is what happens if you stir the toffee, it crystalizes and is unfixable.

 Remy asleep in Gwilym's sling.

Gwilym and Remy.

Gwilym and Emily and Remy.

 David's brother Andrew and Shanda.

 Pennie and Francoise.

Jackson had his friend Lucie come to play for the day because Charlie spent some of the day at a friends birthday party.

Emily with mother Meg.

At last... after years of asking... the Griffiths Bros Teas sign goes up on the wall.  Hurray!

Nerys, Tim, Jack, Lucie and Charlie and their cool poses.....  and their normal pose below!

David was here as well... I didn't banish him after he ruined my toffee, see I'm a kind and forgiving wife!

The morning after the day before...........

This is what I found when I came downstairs this morning... 7 empty bottles of David's Home Brewed Beer which was  a great success yesterday with the four and half beer drinkers that were here for my first 13th Party,  there were plenty of requests for... more please...  :-)

David has been brewing his own beer for more than 40 years now and our DSIL Timmy T has taken it up as well but he's gone several steps further by GROWING!!!!  his own Hops!

He has only one vine which just about covers this Pergola in their back yard each year, they are hand picked...

Pretty little things aren't they... then they are dried until ready for brewing and by all accounts but not from my own taste buds because I can't get past the smell, but from the taste buds of the true beer drinkers...   the results are truly wonderful!

Clever chap isn't he, our DSIL Timmy T!   Oh and David as well of course :-)
