Welcome to Good News Saturday...

#1 -  my FINGER PRINTS are back, so much easier opening my phone and iPad than having to type in my codes!  Yay!

#2 - my HAIR has started to grow back, just very white very fine and very small but it is growing back... no photo till it turns curly...  hopefully!

#3 - I am back to making a quilt, a Raggy Quilt requested by our Remy which is so lovely... and I'm loving being back in my 'Zone'.

I'm going to find it hard to part with this quilt, I'm loving it sooooo much!
...  maybe I should buy some more fabrics the same for meeeee...

Photo a Day Challenge - 4.7.2022 - I'm Working on this...

Oh yes I am indeed working on this wonderful almost 100 year old quilt each night while watching a little telly.
I bought this 1930's Hexagon Quilt top about 20 years ago and started hand quilting it after repairing several spots, I did give up a few times but now I'm determined to finish it!  Oh YES I am!

PAD June is 'Grateful Month' 2.6.2022 - I'd be very Grateful if someone can suggest the best way to border this 100 year old Hexagon Quilt when I've finished quilting.

I don't want to cut off the edges of these beautiful old fabrics but what's the choice?  Applique to a white fabric?

These are 1" Hexies so small, very small??

Is there another option?

I bought this old quilt top back in 2004, it was made in America in the 1920's and was the start of my Hexagon craze, I've been hand quilting it on and off now for about 18 years, admittedly it's been untouched for a couple of years here and there but I'm on a roll now and I would love to finish one day, but how the heck do I bind it??

Here she is, I've done lots of quilting over the years but a lot lot lot more still to do.

Destashing!

I've been rummaging around in my fabric stash for ages and finally I packaged up these five bags for my dearly beloved to drop off to the Sewing Basket in Balmain on his way to The Fleet a couple of days ago.  Such a relief to be able to give these perfectly good but never going to be used by myself to a wonderful charity helping people with a disability, gives me a smile it does.

Photo a Day Challenge - 16-1.2021 - I can do This!

In December 2020 I decided to do this Bonnie K Hunter - Grassy Creek Mystery.  I usually save all the instructions week by week and see if I like the finished quilt...  but this time, this weird time of our lives, I decided to sew week by week and of course I do not like the finished product, far too busy for me so I am going to jiggle and juggle and see how this works our... but Hey... I CAN DO THIS!  😇😏😓😝😘

During this Covid time I thought I'd do another of Bonnie K Hunters Mystery Quilts... I do have plenty of fabric so no need to go shopping!

This one is called 'Grassy Creek' and I"m up to #6 now, tomorrow I will put the little corner pieces on those grey blocks bottom right!  For the first time ever... and I've made many of Bonnie's Mystery's...  I think I will be ahead and ready for #7 coming on Saturday our time.
