Photo a Day Challenge - 28.9.2017 - Trash.
Our poor old home went to the tip after we moved into our new home, parts of it were rescued, some of the things went into our new home... such as the doors, the bath, the light fittings and so on but the rest was just Trash!

We went back to Gordon Library to have a little look see and a long read about all 16 of us who did the first Oral History Project for Ku-ring-gai. Here's some more photos.
We just can't help ourselves... Watching a recorded episode of 'Home Fires' on telly last night I spotted this sign and of course we have one on our wall.
Although now that I look at both of them closely... they are different, the one on our wall is enamel and the one on the telly last night is cast iron. Oh well close enough :-)

I just love the shape of these light fittings, we have two of them one from our old home and one from my friend Smurray! These must be about 100 years old as well!

Well that was a fun sort of day... a little different than the rest, we went to the German Autofest held in the Gough Whitlam Park at St Peters.
I'd be lying if I said we went to see the cars... we didn't really we went to see our dear friend Bill who had entered his red Mercedes! and to meet his son David all the way from Brisbane.
Gwil and Em came along as well which was just lovely... thanks for taking the photos Em pity you didn't take one of yourself :-)

Hurray! We have another Pet!
We know Billy has been around for some time but he likes to keep a very low profile so we only ever get the odd glimpse but today he was sunning himself just where I was watering the garden so here he is. Have you ever actually seen the colour blue of a Blue Tongue? Brilliant it is! Wonderful.
So we've had Milly the Water Dragon for several years, Molly the dog next door for a couple of years and Mandy the Kookaburra for about 9 months... and now we have Billy the Blue Tongue Lizard.
I've called him Billy because we have Milly Molly and Mandy... Billy Blunt is Milly Molly Mandy's friend in the books :-) she has another friend called Little-friend-Susan but that would be just too confusing wouldn't it!
Actually talking about Milly! She's been naughty, she climbs up onto the Pergola around the flowering Wisteria and is catching and eating the bees that are enjoying all the flowers!
We need the bees Milly... do no eat! they can't be good for you can they?

Today is our Anniversary! 46 years ago today we moved into this beautiful old home
This is what our home looked like back on the 20th of September 1971, that's my Falcon Station Wagon out the back.
Below is how I looked when moving in... The Apron was David's idea of a joke gift for my Mum Rosie, she quickly passed it on to me and I still have it!!! Yay! Nerys was due four days later but didn't arrive until 9 days after the due date.
Below is how our home looked back in 1930 when it was first built by John Witter, my friendly Ghost, that's his brand new Buick down the side
This is what our home looked like back in 1943... middle of three homes, ours was called 'Glenwood'.
2017!
I've bought an Anniversary Gift for us all!

We had a visit from Mandy last week and just now Milly came to say Hello! It must be the warming up weather.
This is the first sighting of our dear Milly since Winter, gosh she looks well after her long hibernation.
Mandy was here last week for a chat a titbit of bacon... Wow look how the Wisteria has flowered in that one week.
Haven't heard Molly barking from next door today, but I know she's still there.

I've really been enjoying scanning and posting these almost, fifty year old Newsletters from Wollogorang.
My cousin Sue's cousin David Crisp has lent me these old 'Wollogorang News & Views' and I'm just loving scanning them and putting them up onto a Blog which I know the State Library are interested in.
Back in the 1930's / 40's / 50's / 60's my Great Uncle John and his siblings owned and ran 'Wollogorang Pastoral Company' which comprised 5 Properties in Southern NSW. I spent many a very happy time staying then eventually working at the largest property, 'Wollogorang'.
I remember these Newletters which started back in 1958 because my mum Rosie drew the covers for some of the later additions.
When I started reading these precious things I rang the State Library who jumped at the chance of including them in their archives but David Crisp doesn't want to part with them just yet so this is why I'm scanning etc! I know my extensive family will enjoy reading them at their leisure as much as I am now.
My Great Uncle John had a very dry sense of humour which comes out in some of these written words and I just love it. Not only do these record rainfall, crop production, sheep and wool production they also have a Safety section, there is always a Recipe and some kids jokes and at the end is the personal column saying who is staying on the Properties, who is visiting elsewhere and many other fascinating topics... Just look at this little gem below :-)
