The English Language is a tricky thing you know...
Picture this, it's Sunday afternoon, DDIL2 and DD1 and DGS1 and self are lounging comfortably after a lovely family day of food, chat and fun... the rest of the family are out in the garden or on the tennis court... the conversation inside is about the pending birth of our DGD3 due in four weeks.
Next weekend is DDIL2's birthday plus her friends are giving her a Baby Shower. Nothing strange here you are thinking...
Well! DGS1 turns to me saying he thinks he gets it now, he thought a 'Baby Shower' was when your friends came around to watch you and the new baby have a shower!
I do so love Grandchildren!

Remy took yesterday's photos of lunch gathering... enjoy :-)
Okay so some may be a little blurry but he did get 'most' of us.
Remy's second try of taking a photo of his Mummy worked better.
Remy wouldn't let me take a photo of him, so I took a photo of his legs instead and that changed his mind!
Check out that glowing Mummy :-) only four weeks to go today!

Photo a Day Challenge - 28.3.2016 - Happiness.
There was much happiness when I received a letter from David and the same for him.
A few years ago I typed up all the letters he'd written to me before we were married and gave this book to him for our 40th Wedding Anniversary... I also sent a copy to the State Library :-)

Photo a Day Challenge - 26.3.2016 - Minimal.
The Frangipani that grow in our garden don't flower a lot, this tree has had a minimal number of flowers any Frangipani could have! I hope it does better next year.

This gave me a good laugh but I'm warning those dear children of mine... if I get called a 'Relict' in my Obit... I will come back and SIT on you :-)
Found this in John Luxford's Book about my mothers side of the family, the Cobcroft's. I know its old English but I do not want to be known as a 'relict' of anyone okay!
Nor do I want to be known as a 'thing which has survived' :-)
This is my 4 times Great Grandmother, Sarah Cobcroft nee Smith.
John's Cobcroft book is just amazing, it's 670 pages of small print and it's only Volume One! with a possible two more to come.
Sarah had 83 Grandchildren! Makes our almost 8, look piddling in comparison doesn't it :-)

When I woke up this morning, you were on my mind... What was on your mind? you may ask... and to tell you the truth just don't know how this 'delight' did get on my mind in the first place, was it something I saw on telly, was it something I heard on the radio... or was it just a dream!
Anyway... all I knew was that I had to cook an Egg and Bacon Roll for my breakfast! So I called on Taste.com for something special and found what you find below!
The Bacon was cooked with Maple Syrup hence the glisten on it in the photo and because the eggs were small and the roll was large I cooked two eggs. Lots of Lettuce and Dill as well. Mmmmmm...
The first few mouthfuls were delicious but... so so filling... I may make it again but without the Maple Syrup which is a shame because I like Maple Syrup usually, perhaps not cooked.
Thank goodness for my delicious Apple Carrot and Ginger juice and fresh Orange :-)

We had a wonderful FaceTime this morning with this lovely little chap.
I was showing him photos of the whole family taken when he was up here last and he just loved it, he's was chatting away with each new photo, pointing and smiling at each one but the photos he loved the best were the photos of his Mumma Kate who is away at the moment... how lovely is our little James eh! here he is looking at himself at Tim's 50th Birthday Party.
Below is his favourite book at the moment, he's loving the story of Tom Kruse the Outback Mailman. David loves this true story and all our children have seen the old black and white movies of Tom traveling the Birdsville Track to deliver the mail to some of the most remote places in Australia.
This book was written by Tom's Grand Daughter Kristin Weidenbbach and it's a really wonderful read for a small person or even a more mature person :-)

So Proud of my DD1!
First game ever for Nerys and her friends, playing against a well established Soccer team in the over 36's! Way to Gooooooo... !
Don't they look happy, these are the two teams formed only this year in Nerys' district.
Ever since Nerys was a little girl she's wanted to play Soccer, join the Cubs and play Cricket... all things that were 'No-Go' areas for girls back in the 1970's and 80's... now 40 years later Nerys is in a Soccer Team of her own!
Way to go Nerys and by all accounts the only way is up from last weekend's game :-)
P.S. Charlie's coaching in 'Dribbling' came in handy she tells me, Nerys was able to do a bit of a 'dribble' here and there to the loud cheers coming from her family and friends on the side lines :-) Very proud of you Noonoo!!

Thank you Mr Bent!
Late morning panic today, David left his wallet on the train on his way home from Hornsby, he rang me very upset, then he went off to see the Station Master who was very helpful and organized for the carriage to be searched at Chatswood... no Wallet but was now on the Lost Property Register and David would cancel everything when he got home.
10mins later Mr Bent rings me to say he found David's wallet and wasn't too sure about giving it to someone so took it home and looked up our phone number! I rang David, who was still walking home from the Station and we were both very relieved.
When David got home I gave him a container of some of my Peanut Butter Cookies and off he drove to give them to Mr Bent and get his wallet :-)
How lovely are people!!

Photo a Day Challenge - 13.3.2016 - This is funny...
My Children may not wish to read this post but I am still laughing, giggling and just smirking days after, it's the funniest thing to happen in ages :-)
The other night I got up at around 4am to go to the Loo, it was very dark and as I got close to the Loo my foot touched something warm and soft. I gasped and stepped back! The soft warm thing also gasped and reached out to touch me.
Then we started giggling and laughing, that soft warm thing was David sitting on the Loo!
We giggled for ages after as well, the next morning and the next night.
David says he thought I was a 'Ghost'!
Now we have been married for almost 48 years and we have never needed to go to the Loo during the night at exactly the same time! Does this mean after all these years we are now in sync?
