Penniedarling

This being the 50th year of our marriage I'd been trying to find someone, anyone who had been at our Wedding in the UK all those years ago... seeing there were only 7 present and a couple we've never seen again and unfortunately a couple had died it was tricky...  Until...  I joined the Facebook Page called Guildford Past and Present

I put a few photos up on this page, a couple including our friend Peter Waugh, his name being well known in Guildford ... had several people asking questions. 

Then this 'Lovely Lady' happened to mention that she had once worked for Peter's father Rupert Waugh in a shop in North Street called 'Bernards'.  We connected and I mentioned to 'Lovely Lady' that I didn't know where Peter's Sister Christine was living now...  This 'Lovely Lady' immediately promised to have a look and see if she could find her...

Now one day this 'Lovely Lady'... okay, lets call her Sheila, it is her name after all... went to the area she thought she'd heard Christine may have lived, she asked at the local Cafe, she knocked on some doors then eventually she found a woman who knew of Christine and there you have it!!  

Sheila and Chris hadn't seen each other for many years but they did once work together at 'Bernards' and as Chris says her father would often praise the work Sheila was doing.

Sheila gave me Chris's phone number and I rang her last week for a really good catch up!  As sheila says, Chris is rather a Dinosaur when it comes to modern day technology, never been on or will go on the Internet nor will she have a mobile phone which makes keeping in touch a little harder and expensive with phone charges.

Anyway... last night Sheila collected Christine and bought her to her own home and we were able to chat together on Messenger for about 45 minutes...  We got to meet Sheila and see how Christine is going...  how amazing is this Lovely Lady eh!!  So Beautiful!!  Thank you so much Sheila!

I have no idea who this girl is, she must have been one of Peter's girlfriends... I had to put this photo in because I think I look so cool in my leather mini skirt and my leather boots  😃

After almost two years it was time to continue our travelling... but through countries that taking a London Taxi would be impossible so we sent it home on the 'Orcades'... with a couple of trunks full of our goodies.  We still have those trunks, probably have little of what was inside though.





 Farewell Tabitha Taxi, we meet up again 8 months later in Aus.
