My wonderful Violets are in flower again.

These beautiful plants came from my Mama who got the cuttings from her sister Nancy aka Cranky, I love the memories when they start to flower each year, just beautiful.

Gwilym had a happy find in our garden last weekend...

I did notice them but had no idea what they were.

These pretty little green thingies are Elk Horn's... Wow!
I have been ordered to water them regularly and I will obey Gwilym, I promise I will...

PAD June is 'Grateful Month' 29.6.2022 - So Grateful that I came up with the idea of living in this old London Taxi, it was amazingly comfortable.

1968 - we were so lucky to be able to drive around the UK and Europe while sleeping in this beautiful very comfortable Austin Taxi.

We are very fortunate that during almost 3 years we were able to visit so many wonderfully historic places when there was hardly another person around.

Roman Military Station on Hadrians Wall.

Buckland Abbey sitting in Sir Francis Drake's chair.

Snow on Christmas Day.

David on the Rampants at Angouleme France.

South of France.

On top of the Leaning Tower of Pizza.

On our own viewing The Last Supper in Milan, Italy.

Stonehenge well before people were kept well away from the actual stone.  They have built a sort of Moat around the stones now.

 Stratford upon Avon.

I just love this little story.

My brother Nick has a lot of letters written to our mum Rosie from our dad Rip starting from 1943 before they were married, Nick has lent them to me and I will put them into a book for us all and in the letter folder was this little treasure that has nothing to do with those letters....

 Rosie wrote -

Spoon whittled out of a twig by my grandfather Samuel Alexander Long for my Grandmother Edith Christina Higgin before they were married .

The story goes that they were having a picnic and he didn't have a spoon for whatever.

Must have been around 1894.

(they were married in 1895)

Our Great Grandfather Samuel Alexander Long, wife Edith Christina Higgin, with children from left...
our Great Uncle Alan Kelvin aka Bill, Great Aunt Nancy aka Cranky, Great Uncle William McBeth and our Grandmother Edith Daphne aka Mama.

I knew my Great Grandmother Edith, she taught me to light matches when I was about 2 1/2 years old, and what fun that was even though my Mama didn't approve and put the fire on the carpet out!  😍

For most of this year our Pergola on this side of our home has been rotting and threatening to collapse!

David did a great job of propping it up months ago, I took these two photos back in February when the tree loppers came to cut all the branches back that leaned over our home and which a possum may climb up, jump on our roof then down the chimney.
Yesterday Gwilym came around to help David replace some of the rotting timber with new planks.

Remy lent a hand keeping the leveller at the right position.
Elodie was playing at Supervisor!
All the planks back in place.
What a difference!
Well done Team!  Great Job, just a bit of a tidy up today and all done!

What a lovely day with these two little people.

This little person has a wobbly tooth, the top front on the right... she's looking forward to it coming out and hoping the Tooth Fairy finds it.
I found these old stamps in my sewing room a few weeks ago and were they a hit with these two.
Elodie made a card for her Mum Emily because she was home with another broken foot.

Mumma is going to love this beautiful card and her bunch of Lavender.

PAD June is 'Grateful Month' 26.6.2022 - How wonderful was my Great Aunt Carol who taught me to knit when I was just 5 years old.

The first thing I knitted with Carol's guidance was a jumper for my Teddy, I had it for many years but when I was in my teens, moths got to it and Rosie threw it out 😞  I have been knitting ever since and have many photos of jumpers I've knitted for family and friends over those years but the jumpers I will show you today are an Aran pattern I bought in 1967, with Tony Bonner as the model, the first one I knitted was for David when he headed overseas in late 1967... I also knitted his pattern for my self and several other family members, 9 times I've knitted this pattern!  Wow!  I wonder how many more times I will knit it??

Jackson.
Second one for David.

Second one for Gwilym.
Tomos with my Cousin Simon and cousin in law Monica on Rodd Island.

Abigail.

This 9th is a Vest I knitted for myself... I must take a photo...
Tony Bonner.
Great Aunt Carol, not only known for her Fudge Recipe but for teaching me to knit as well.

PAD June is 'Grateful Month' 25.6.2022 - So grateful that Belinda Giblin opened a Patchwork and Quilting Shop up at our local shops.

This is the first quilt I made back in June 1992 for Tim and Nerys... it's a Double Irish Chain pattern and it was taught to me by ...  Poopootoshirley I can't remember her name, haven't heard anything about her since... if I remember I will be back!
All hand quilted!  Yay!

Maybe I should try and count all the quilts I've made over these 30 years!  Whaaaatttt... 30 years Quilting, Wow!   and 72 years knitting!  Fantasmorgorigal!!
