T'was a fun day yesterday celebrating our 49th year of living at 'Glenwood' especially with these good friends.

Jill, Neill, Ron and Mary. We've known Neill and Ron for more than 55 years and it was Neill who helped us move in here 49 years ago then it was Ron who helped us get all our goodies moved from the Sydney docks after our return from a couple of years back in the UK in 1978.

49 Years ago today we moved into our beautiful home, with a little help from Neill and Sally.

Leaving our little flat in Roseville with Neill and Sally, our London Taxi and Ford Falcon and moving into 'Glenwood' our home :-)

I was due to have Nerys four days after our move but she didn't arrive till almost 2 weeks later.

A lot has changed since that day 49 years ago but all for the good, the very very good.

This is a very Zingy Quilt that I made several years ago when the 'Dear Jane' quilt was what everyone was making, I decided not to follow the original, yes I know that's who I am... and make it smaller and in hand dyed solid fabrics, each of my blocks can be seen below but my blocks above are appliqued not pieced.

Look what happened to our Lavender today :-(

Our Lavender has really been looking beautiful this year but then along came Niall and...

... all chopped down... I know, I know it's what's best for it and will make it just as beautiful again next year but... but.

Niall did carefully cut all these flowers below which I have tied into bundles to give to my Tennis Friends and my Quilty friends tomorrow with some some for me of course :-)
