It sure was a 'fun' day at our yearly get together with the Ku-ring-gai's Quilters plus DH's, weather was prefect as well.

Our Challenge this year, chosen by Lynne, was to make two of these blocks using a colour we'd been given.  I got Black and used some of my very old green spider web fabric.  Lynne put the quilt together,  we all chipped in for the quilting and once the label is made it will be given to a Charity!  Great challenge Lynne... I just wish Howard understood what we meant by hold the quilt up  :-)

... that's better, Stephen taking a photo and my photo below.

Lots of laughs, lots of great food and lots of conversations of all kinds.

then it was Selfie time...  Me with Steven.
 Gillian and Peter.
 Lynne and David.
 Irene and Penny.
and finally... Howard and Lyn.

Thanks everyone it was indeed a lovely day.

Penny is setting our 2016 Challenge which she says is a Garden theme, it's a four Row quilt and the first Row is to be Green!  Penny will tell us every two months what the next row is to be and so on... Mmmmm... now what will I do I wonder  :-)   you'll have to wait till this time next year to see how we all interpret this challenge.

At last... Frangipani!

As soon as Summer hits I wait for my three Frangipani plants to flower, I see trees full of flowers from the beaches to the city and in between but never in my garden.   Today I found two and some bug has gone and pooped on one...

Photo a Day Challenge - 27.1.2016 - Phone.

This is Pennan, in north Scotland and the phone box that was in the film 'Local Hero', my favourite film of all time.

The Pub is just on the right and the owners told us that the village never had a phone box but the Movie people put one here just for the movie then removed it... but... the Village had to put it back because of tourists looking for it.

I rang Gwilym from this phone box when we were here in 2005!

OMG and AMAZEBALLS all in one!!!

Someone 'STOLE' these precious Ginghers of mine way back in 2007, I searched high and low, upstairs and down, inside and out for months and months.  I accused everyone I knew just about.

Then I eventually bought another pair!

Just the other day I found these scissors deep deep down in the back of David's comfy chair, I thought they were Mum's old silver scissors because they were stiff and not as good as my beautiful Ginghers... but today I found Mum's old scissors where they belong and had a closer look at these poor long lost friends!

A bit of a polish and off to the Sharpener and I will have two better than excellent Gingher Scissors!   Yay!!

My apologies to all those I accused and glared at... and I know what you are thinking... David!   No he's not to blame, I use that chair sometimes as well :-)

It was a Hawaii 5-0 Party for Tim's 50th!

Even though one thought one was actually in Hawaii the party was held at one of Tim and Nerys' friends home in Hornsby... Wow... Wow... and Wow!  What great fun, incredible imagination, delicious food and terrific friends they have.

The youngest and coolest Hawaiian at the party!  Little James William :-)

John and Megan, John was a school friend of Nerys and he was one of the handful of Aussies able to go to their Wedding 20 years ago.

Those imaginative friends made this fabulous Waterfall!  At night it lit up  :-)   They made those 'Palm Trees' as well... Incredible!

It's a Kombi!  Yay!

Day Seven of Remy's Holiday and a big surprise at the Bus Museum!

After a little swim we saw our baby Water Dragon scurrying around the pool, behind the chairs and... would you believe this... straight up the brick wall to the top of the blind where it feasted on all sorts of bugs and insects we don't like.  Thank you Baby Water Dragon, not only did you put on a great show for Remy you ate some mozzies!

Lunch time we went to Sushi Train with Jack, Charlie and Noonoo... yum!  Remy mostly ate Edamame... Yummy yummy!

Then it was straight home with Jack and Charlie and we all had a nap!  :-)  well the youngest of us did!

And a long promised treat!  A trip to the Bus Museum to see David.
This is a Drivers Training machine... you have to learn early if you want to drive one of David's Double Decker Buses.

Remy's driving the old Army Bus for Charlie and Jack.

The little Vespa Royal Mail van is always popular :-)
This photo was taken on 16th January 2011... almost 5 years ago :-)

One of the things I enjoy doing when I have Grandchildren sleeping over is to tell them some 'real' stories.  Remy asked for stories about me when I was his age and older.  One of the stories I told him was of David and I living in a London Taxi and driving all around Europe.  One night we were sleeping and didn't know it but heavy snow fell, in the morning the snow was banked up so high on the running boards we both had to use our feet to push and push the door open so we could get out and do a Wee.  Oh course Remy had never heard of 'running boards',  I told him they were sort of like the back platform of the bus except they went down both sides of the London Taxi, he was fascinated.

So... I showed him the Bus Museum's London Taxi and while he was in it... guess who came looking for him???

It was Mummy and Daddy... home from Tasmania!   you should have heard and seen the delight from all of us  :-)

When things settled down a bit, Remy and Mummy were still in the London Taxi and I heard Remy  carefully explaining about Pennie and David sleeping in the back and there was snow on the running boards and they had to push hard to get out... how sweet is that.   Later on Remy wanted to take Mummy for a drive in the London Taxi, and although it was hot hot hot at the Museum, Remy insisted that Em close the door because the Police wouldn't like it... so Mummy did as she was told!    Remy to Mum...  Where would you like to go?  Mum... Darling Harbour please.    Remy to Mum with a sigh... This Taxi doesn't go to Darling Harbour, it only goes to London!    :-)

Yay for Remy, he knows what's what!

I think he's happy to see them don't you!

As you can see... it was hot hot hot at the Museum yesterday.

Have no fear Remy...  Daddy, Mummy and Baby Bear will wait here until you come to play with them again.

And in the meantime... Tassie got a big 'Thumbs Up', Gwil and Em just loved their little break away.
On the last day, Em was up early enjoying a walk and she watched the sun come up over Wineglass Bay!  Beautiful!
Gwil enjoyed a swim and the wet suited chap was going to enjoy the fish he caught.

Lunch consisted of Oysters, mussels and scallops all grown right here.
