Photo a Day Challenge - 4.3.2021 - D.

Here I am in 1955, a Flower Girl, on the far right of this photo for my Uncle David Dixon's marriage to my favourite Aunt Audrey, Rip's youngest sister.

David Palmer Dixon - born 4.4.1926 - now almost 95!

Married Heather Audrey Rodd (known as Audrey) 22.10.1995 - born 1929 - died 12.3.1971 (only 42)

A wonderful man who I do manage to get to see now and then, always a delight!

My dad Ripley is behind me.

Yesterday we enjoyed a Surprise 60th Birthday Party for my cousin Robyn.

It was held at the Winston Hotel at Winston Hills.    I was a little daunted as I hadn't seen my cousin for many years and I didn't know any of her family except for her husband Rod, her sister and my cousin, Susan and her husband Doug and of course their father my Uncle David who married my father's youngest Sister Audrey.   I was a flower girl at David and Audrey's wedding, that's me on the far right aged 10 and my father Ripley in uniform, I don't know the others.  Audrey died 48 years ago.

I felt a little daunted because I reckoned I would know 5 people!
I told Nerys that we both felt a little daunted and she very wisely said... sometimes the most daunting events turn out to be some of the best and how right was she!  We really had a wonderful time meeting so many people and enjoying a good catch up with those I did know.
Robyn with her cake and lots of Grandchildren.
Pennie, Robyn, Uncle David and Sue with Robyn's husband doing???

Daniel, James and John with their mother Robyn and their Grandfather David.

I had lunch with my Uncle David and my cousin Robyn last Monday.

I haven't seen David for more than 21 years and it was just wonderful to sit and chat and hear a few family stories I didn't know.

David married my fathers youngest sister Audrey, David's brother Roy was a school friend of Dad's, Roy and Dad were in the same Regiment during WW2.
Audrey and David's Wedding 1955. Roy on far left and Dad on right with a 10 year old Penniedarling on the far right.
