Abi's Treasure Hunt Instructions!
Labels: Abigail, Christmas 2016
Abi's Christmas Treasure Hunt.
By popular demand Abigail Rose organized another one of her Treasure Hunt's for Christmas Day.
Abi chooses several items from around our home, she photographs them on her iPhone then she hides them mostly in the garden but a few inside the house as well
Next she makes up a clue for each item telling us where it's hidden.
Then she draws our names out of a hat and makes up our teams.
Team by team we line up to get our clues and to see the photo of what we are trying to find, we must work out the clue, find the item then take a Selfie... without touching the item... Bring that photo back to Abi for her to cross us off, then she gives us the next clue and photo.
Team Pennie and Charlie!
Soooo... Above is one of Abi's Clues and below is the photo we took, not possible to take a selfie without other teams spotting us. This beautifully beaded little stocking was a gift from one of my Cow internet friends many Christmas' ago and hidden in Abi's Christmas Stocking.
At one stage several teams were in the entrance hall looking for one very tiny little bird, I found it below and it is a dreadful photo but I didn't want any of the other teams seeing that I was taking a photo... this item has now gone missing, we think it got pushed into the corner of the carpet :-)
A Mosaic of all the 'Treasure' we found :-)
Team Charlie and Pennie came in third! Yay!

35c predicted and these trepid walkers are off to Bobbin Head.
They made it all the way then Penniedarling went down to pick up the first lot...
And a second trip...
Then four and a half hours later the last three returned... a 15 km walk in all that heat! Wow! What troupers.
Yay!!

My Favourite Christmas Activity!!!
Oh Noooo... there were complaints! How lucky am I eh! They prefer to go shopping with Penniedarling.
So early this morning we set off to Hornsby starting at KMart!!
Six out of five beautiful children joined me and into the first store we headed....... Hey! Two of these Grandchildren are taller than I am! Yikes!!!
After visiting several shops with plenty of success we needed a morning tea break so it was Ice Cream or Drinks from Maccas.
Then we continued from the Food Hall to Target and back to the Food Hall for a little lunch with two sets of parents who had been doing their own thing in Hornsby including a little...... spying on us!
I think it was only Remy who spent all his money on two sets of Lego, a beaut shirt and a Rainbow Poo Cushion :-) The other children have some money left over to save or spend on other things later on.
Thank you for a beautiful day Jackson Harry, Abigail Rose, Charlie Ripley, Matilda May, George Mervyn and Remy Corbell... you were all wonderful and Thank you for looking out for each other and doing the odd head count so successfully.

A few Christmas Eve and Christmas Day photos...
This Gingerbread House I put together... a little corner has been tasted and it does tastes delicious, just perfect it is. I've thrown out the box but I do remember the instructions weren't in English.
George is off to buy our Christmas Tree with David.
Emma always does a lovely job of decorating.
Elodie is here...
Abigail anticipating a bucket full of water over her head, just waiting for someone to hit the bulls eye.
Charlie's turn.
Yay!
Handstands.
The Life Guards.
Life Guards full frontal...
Who's this????
Gwilym, Elodie and George just lounging on Gwil's new beach towel.
Do not be fooled by this photo, it was not and so far has not been cold here this Christmas, Emma just wanted to have photos taken with the jumper I knitted for her and one for Tom for their birthdays... and for her English friends who are suffering in the cold this Christmas.
Stop the Presses - A mini earthquake has occurred in a Turramurra kitchen completely destroying a Gingerbread House.
The oldest daughter Nerys Griffiths Thompson of the maker of the aforementioned Ginger Bread House swears that she and several children were just enjoying some cherries when the earthquake occurred.
The five children were not only shocked they were devastated and came rushing to the maker to inform her of the earthquake. The first thing the maker did was to check what was in their mouths and it was true, only cherries...
Another suggestion has been made and that was... Maybe Santa was just too big and it was he that made the Ginger Bread House collapse... we will never know because this house is so delicious there's only some little pieces left now.
Readers... please do not worry about Santa, he has been bathed very gently and is now resting until he dries.

By Special Request... Abigail Rose organizes the teams for our Christmas Day Treasure Hunt.
Abi announces our teams which she drew out of a hat, and the photos Charlie and I took on our Hunt, some were very very difficult to find and at one stage several teams were held up in the hallway looking for the tiniest bird hidden on the corner of one of the stairs.
Abi finds her treasure around our home, she then takes a clear picture of it, she makes up a clue then hides that treasure somewhere around our home... it's a great lot of fun and Abigail is one very clever just turned 12 year old!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
I hope Santa has lots of worms for our Mandy, she's been a very good girl.
... and she's growing.
My children just love the very old decorations on the back fly screen.... NOT... my bed is above this door and no matter how hard the children tried to sneak in after a late night out... those bells would announce their time of arrival!! I could move them to somewhere else but that would upset the children wouldn't it Nerys? Tomos? Briony? and Gwilym??
18 Christmas Stockings all ready and waiting... we've all been such goodies this year Santa is sure to fill them to overflowing...
