T'was Pub day for me yesterday... left here at 9:40am got home just before 6pm! It was a good day :-)
While sitting in the Car Park waiting for the chains to be unlocked ... I spied my very dirty back window and the animal foot prints ... do you think the Possums like climbing up onto my car? Mmmmm...
There were about 28 SCQuilters from all around Sydney and NSW at the pub yesterday, it was indeed a lovely cosy if a little noisy day :-) you can see lots of wonderful photos on the SYDSCQ Blog http://sydneyscquilters.blogspot.com.au/

Party Party Party weekend... first up was the SCQuilters at the Blue Gum.
Now here's the story... long long ago when SCQuilter get togethers were just new, (SCQers have been going for 20 years) a gift swap would be the go. The idea was that you made or bought something quilty wrapped it up and put it in a basket which would be passed around and you would get to pick a parcel in return... but comments were heard along the lines of... 'I made a beautiful something something and look at the crap I got in return!!!' Soooo...
I came up with the idea of bringing along a gift that you had received, a gift you didn't want but there was nothing wrong with it and it had never been used... we all have these sorts of gifts in our home don't we.
So way back in 2006 one SCQuilter bought along this Golden Galleon. Isn't it the most hideous thing you have ever seen. Well guess what! It came back the next year and the next, it's been coming to our Christmas Parties for 9 years now! This year the last years 'Winner' asked her son to make a lovely see through box for it and they wrote the names of the past recipients on the back.
Now 'The Galleon' will be a much sort after gift :-)
Plus I think the Galleon craze has gone bananas... here are two more that will be back again next Christmas.
There is another gift that keeps giving and it's a Cat Pencil Sharpener that meows when the pencil is inserted....
You can see more of the gifts and fun on the Sydney SCQuilters Blog. http://sydneyscquilters.blogspot.com.au/

Bit of a busy weekend, firstly with a full day at the Pub, then some shoping at Colesworth, home just before the boys arrived for a sleep over, then a funeral on Sunday.
Anyway... I knew Saturday's dinner would be a rushed affair so I asked several SCQuilters what could I buy at the supermarket that I would just pop in the oven but was better than fish fingers or pizza... There were many wonderful suggestions and Liz suggested Chicken Duets so I had a stroll around found these things, also found some frozen chips with Parmesan and Garlic and some frozen Peas with Corn.
The meal was a success, the chicken was tender with a garlic sauce inside... I forgot to take a photo until most of us finished... Charlie is always the last, he is always telling stories :-)
The chips were delicious!
Next morning... the queue for the computer!

Christmas Party at the Pub!
Look what Annette found for me :-)
... and look at this pretty little lady from Christine! Where do these people find these lovely gifts!!
I thought I'd just have a couple of small entree's for lunch yesterday... the Pale Ale Prawns were okay but those Pulled Pork Plum Spring Rolls with apple, lemon and ginger dipping sauce were fantastic! It was rather a large meal so I bought one spring roll home to have with my dinner :-)
Laugh, laugh, laugh... Here I am Revealing my Blue Gum Challenge... check out the Sydney SCQuilters Blog to see the wonderful masterpieces some of the other SCQuilters made!http://sydneyscquilters.blogspot.com.au/

I even found a couple of old friends lunching there yesterday, I don't expect to find friends at the Blue Gum... no that doesn't sound right, I have lots of friends at the Blue Gum... what I think I'm trying to say is that I don't expect to find friends who aren't SCQuilters at the Blue Gum! Aaahhh... that's better.
Anyway... Enjoy :-)
