Guess what I'm baking...

Yay!  ANZAC Biscuits (without Coconut).  The oldest recipes for these didn't have coconut in them and that's the way I've always baked my ANZAC Biscuits.

Photo a Day Challenge - 24.4.2020 - Month of Gratitude.

Snowy and Cuddles, who live out near the road, are wearing their Poppies, all ready for ANZAC Day tomorrow.
I've knitted many many many of these Poppies and given them to family and friends, I hope they will be wearing them tomorrow.
ANZAC Biscuits are ready as well.

War Memorial Canberra.

We were very impressed with what Brendan Nelson had done with the Canberra War Memorial, it's been a long long time since we've visited but this time we were just blown away by the whole place.  A big change for the good.

Only thing was that I found it so moving I was close to tears, especially the photos of those young lads who have lost their lives in recent wars and I just had to leave and just sit outside admiring the view to Parliament House.

This is a plaque remembering my fathers Regiment the 2/3rd Anti Tank, 9th Division.

Rip served at El Alamein.

The staff at the War Memorial were very helpful, one young lad saw us searching and searching the walls of names trying to find our ancestors, he came up and offered help and lead us to David's Great Uncle Frank Amphlett who lost his life at Ypres Flanders, Belgium.

 Captain Frank Amphlett.

Then we found the Bishop brothers, my second cousins.
Harold McKay Bishop, buried at Bancourt British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

And....
Raymond Charles Bishop, died at Fromelles, France.
