A wonderful Birthday Afternoon Tea for our 10 year old :-)
David made this very delicious Lime Syrup cake, absolutely scrumptious!
David is certainly on a winning streak, I sent him off to our local news agency to buy something little thing to go with Charlie's Birthday money... unknown to both of us, he couldn't have chosen better. This is Charlie's favourite team on the cover :-)
A lovely Face Time with cousin Remy and Emily and Gwilym, Remy needed all his fingers and thumbs to see how old Charlie is.
A big hug from Penniedarling for the Birthday Boy.
A big hug from David.
A piggy back from big brother Jack.
And... a photo bomber with Pennie and Nerys.
Charlie was very lucky to be going home with a family heirloom... do you know what it is??
Some beautiful roses for Pennie :-)

A couple of things gave me a smile today... and boy did I need it.
Girl on the radio talking about her parents moving here from the Sudan. One day they were invited to someone's home for dinner and were told... 'Bring a Plate' This worried them and they thought if their hosts were asking people to bring their own plates they must be very poor, so they went out and bought a dinner set as well as a cutlery set for their hosts :-)
This same girls mother was asked. 'Do you have the time?' the mother replied. 'Yes, how can I help you?' :-)
Which reminded me of a party my cousin was having many years ago, her male guests were asked to, 'Bring a Bird and a Bottle.' A young American chap turned up with a bottle of something and a BBQ Chicken! :-)

Photo a Day Challange - 23.4.2016 - Arrow.
David's Uncle Keith was married to Virginia Pope who was the daughter of Dr Saxton Pope.
Virginia had me in raptures as she told David and I all about Ishi who was the last of the Yahi Indians of America, she told us of Ishi living with them for long periods how he learned to eat a meal with them and so on. Virginia had some arrow heads that Ishi had made but I don't have a photo of them so I did a Google and here's a photo of the Arrows and Ishi himself.
Many years after Virginia told us of Ishi we saw a story about him on SBS, Virginia was thrilled when I rang her.
From Wiki...
Ishi, having come to live in San Francisco, and having no immunity to the 'diseases of civilization,' was often ill. He was treated by a Professor of Medicine at UCSF, Saxton T. Pope. Pope became close friends with Ishi, and learned from him how to make bows and arrows in the Yahi way. He and Ishi often hunted together.

One of the Chef's on the 'Himalaya', the ship we returned to Sydney on in 1970. This chap is chopping some meat for our dinner... not a very tidy looking kitchen is it! I'll bet they are much cleaner and tidier now days on these big cruise ships.

I have just had the worst 24 hours in my life... childbirth never lasted this long for me...
Have you ever had to wear one of these things for 24 hours! If you did I hope your experience wasn't as horrible as mine, or am I just a whinger!
My left leg has something going on, it's not the leg I injured 2 years ago it's the other one so maybe I've been working it harder while trying to protect my right injured leg, who knows. Anyway I went to see John, my local Dr. Now John is a lovely friendly man but l have a silly fear of Dr's and Dentists so every time I go my blood pressure is high but yesterday it was really high, not only the Systolic but the Diastolic was sky high as well so... off I'm sent to have one of these bad bad bad and very naughty machines attached around my neck connecting to the very uncomfortable sleeve on my left arm.
Now... every 30 minutes this machine starts up... it pumps and pumps the sleeve on my arm tighter and tighter and tighter until I am groaning and moaning in pain... yes I know it's all for my own good and if I wasn't over weight and my arm wasn't so fat and flabby it probably wouldn't have hurt as much but... wishful thinking! by the end of the day my arm is hot and itchy and achy achy and it hurts. So to bed!
No shower allowed, straight to bed trying to get comfortable with this dang machine hanging around my neck... and to be truthful, the machine didn't go off ever 30 minutes while I was trying to sleep, it only went off ever hour!!!!!
Anyway, 9am back to Douglass Hanly Moir to get the machine taken off and to have my blood taken... Now let me tell you about the poor Phlebotomist's that have to try and find a vein to collect my blood! Dad was the same, we just don't have veins! The delightful Olga, from Russia BTW, tried this arm she tried that arm, she tried my hands... no luck. So off she went to get some hot water??? and she asked me to put my hands into this hot hot hot water... YIKES! it was indeed HOT! I left my hands in this hot water for about 3 minutes and thankfully when she took them out she found a vein and filled up two things of my blood. Phew! Now home for something to eat but not for long.
Now I have to take my hip to Hornsby for an X-ray! Even this hurt, hurt, hurt and HURT!
Luckily there was a parking spot right outside our Pharmacy which I pass on my way home so in I pop in to get some Panadol, which was recommended by Dr John, then I decided I needed a treat so walked next door and bought two little lemon tarts... but the pain in my leg is unbearable now and on returning home I don't feel like lemon tarts or anything but some Panadol and a good sleep... so I do manage to get two hours of sleep but then that dog next door starts yelping.
Dr John tomorrow to find out what's wrong with my leg! I hope!!
On the BRIGHT side... David is now home from the Bus Museum and look how many limes I picked from our tree, aren't they pretty and there's heaps more coming along.

There's been 'Sparks' flying out the front.
David loves this old bit of rail, it's something special he tells me. He found it down the bush many years ago and put it here for everyone to admire! Do you admire it? Have you done so when visiting our home? Mmmmm... I don't admire it when it's all rusty but he assures me it will be spick and span with no rust when he's finished!
