Hey Noo, Tomo, Briface and Gwilly... check this out!
Remember this little piece of land next to the Oval? I took this photo just after it was sold in 2011.
This tiny block of land once had an Electricity Substation on it... well...
The cement for the flooring of a Double Storey House was being laid today.
Everybody was onsite!
What I can't understand is... the edge of this new home to be is right on the boundary of the Kort's home on the right... how can that be??

Photo a Day Challenge - 31.5.2013 - Four Things.
How many do you have to have on one 'thing' to make it a Collection... someone once told me it was 3! Well in that case we might have 100's of collections between us but these are probably the biggest.

Just hanging out with Remy...
Hey Pennie... these bracelets of yours don't taste as good as they look you know!
Aawww.... Mum! What is this stuff you're trying to feed me?
Pumpkin? Zucchini? Potato?
Okay... I'll try again....
MMmmmmm.... I don't know what to think of this stuff but I sure ate a lot of it!
Now we're talking... Pennie's lunch looks a lot better than mine!
Remy likes the look of David! :-)
... and he like being with his first cousin once removed... Madi!

Remy's Mummy just doesn't understand... Remy wants to feed himself :-)
I can't believe that Nerys and Tim are looking at HIGH Schools for Jackson... He's only in year 5!
Nerys and Jack visited Nerys' old school yesterday... they were going to look for your name on the School Captain board Gwillo but the Bini was closed for Year 11 Exams... :-(

Hurray!! Hurray!! Hurray!! At last a lovely little Telstra man came and dug around in the hole on our footpath out the front and cut off some rusty wires and rejoined the good wires... so we are back online!! So... here are some photos of Jackson and Charlie's weekend sleep over :-)
Minecraft keeps Jackson happy and to a lesser degree Charlie.
Charlie would rather be cooking...
You have to smile don't you... he plays up for the camera such a lot.
Now this step is serious work...
... as is this step...
Hurray!
Of course the Adriano's Brownies are so delicious I never got around to taking a photo of the finished product... next time maybe :-)
In the meantime back at the Ranch the Mummy and the Daddy, with a little help from their friend Brendan were making a Bike Shed for all these bikes skateboards and so on.
Don't you love the way the tree goes straight through the roof!
The Daddy admiring his work... and looking forward to next weekend when all will be finished!
Below are some photos Nerys sent me of the work going on last Saturday...
Tim tells me his Bike Shed has cost him about $20... most of the materials are recycled.
Brendan...
And... Nerys was busy as well... check out her beautiful firewood :-)

Waiting... Waiting... Waiting for this darn buggerbumshitpoop, poopootoShirley... Telstra man to come back... for the FOURTH time to fix our phone lines!!!!!!!
We can't make phone calls because the line is so crackly we can't hear what the other person is saying... most of the time we can't connect to the internet and when we can it's so darn slow and it keeps shutting down!!!!!!
Each time they come out they fix something and it all works for a little while... last time it worked for a whole 30 minutes after the man left... Grrrrrrr..... each time we ring we get a date that they might call before... we wait in and a big fat NOTHING!! The last time they made a date... it rained so they never turned up... that was ONE WHOLE WEEK AGO...... They'd better come today....

Photo a Day Challenge - 25.5.2013 - Us.
I think this must be the first ever photo taken of us together on board the 'Fairstar'. David is on his way to work in New Zealand way back in early 1967... we were 'just good friends' in this photo and that's the lovely Ken Moroney behind who was always there to look out for me, he was and he still is one of my very favourite people. I made those Lei's from Frangipani flowers ... and look at me dressed in a Hawaiian skirt and brief top ... LOL ... Well we were beautiful young things back then and we'd all spend the summer together on the beach at Newport!

Photo a Day Challenge - 23.5.2013 - PJ's
As David and I have no nightwear of any description I had to ask for help with this photo. Nerys and the boys willingly jumped in to rescue me :-) Aren't they just beautiful little helpers!
I couldn't choose which photo so I've put them all in!

If I find an interesting Australian coin in my change I usually put it in this box... I have visions of giving each of the children a selection one day. Now days I have to say I hardly ever find an interesting coin but Kate and Briony do in Canberra. Thanks Kate and Briony.

Have you ever had the problem of too many Avocado's??
Gwilym has an Avocado tree growing in his back lane so with the help from a neighbour and the use of our Pool Scoop to catch them they climbed up on the garage roof with long snippers and cut down lots and lots and lots of avocado's!
Wonderful stuff... but there are only so many fresh Avocado's a person can eat and when they started to ripen at the same time I had to so something... so I asked for help on Facebook and did a search on Google, but then I found this recipe for 'Avocado Pound Cake' on a Blog that I've been following for years ... Not Quite Nigella.
I doubled the recipe using up 5 of our ripe Avocados... the smell of these two cakes cooking is still in the air :-)
We shared the first slice while it was still hot! I'm going to Freeze the other cake and see how it turns out.
2. Bake for about 55 minutes until a skewer inserted comes out clean. When slicing, turn upside down and slice into the smooth base with a serrated knife. Serve with a good room temperature butter that spreads easily.

- Avocado Pound Cake
- 1 1/4 cups plain flour
- 1/4 cup cornflour/cornstarch
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/3 cup almond meal (I didn't have any so used dessicated coconut instead)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup light olive oil (I used melted butter instead, I don't like oil in cakes)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 ripe medium avocados
- 1/2 cup milk soured with a tablespoon of lemon juice
- Good butter to serve

'She keeps a good Larder...' This is the sign of a good housewife so I was told MANY times by my old English friend Elsie Waugh!
Neill, one of my boyfriends, gave short notice that he would like to come up for Lunch so I ummed and ahhhed about what to rush out and buy but decided to see if I could find enough in my Larder, Fridge and Feeezer and here's what we enjoyed!
Homemade Gravlax Salmon from the fridge with some Philly cheese topped on some stale Garlic, Olive Oil Sourdough bread from the larder freshened up in the toaster. Yum!
I just about emptied the vegetable crisper with what was left of the lettuce, carrot, cucumber, sugar peas, fennel and avocado.
Forgot to take a photo of the Crash Hot Potatoes and all the Sausages from the Freezer but we enjoyed, Chicken, Corn and Chives - Chicken Chinese Ginger - Chicken Halloumi and Pumpkin - Irish Beef and Gourmet Chicken Sausages... most of which were gobbled up... then for Dessert.
I'd already made some packet jelly... nowadays I make it using half the water suggested and get these lovely firm very tasty squares... threw in some yummy yoghurt and some fresh strawberries... and Yum diddy yum yum - yum yum! I don't know if I would have impressed Elsie but I impressed myself and that's all that matters isn't it eh :-)
My Boyfriend Neill :-) whom I've known for more than 47 years... there is something nice about having old friends like Neill... lots of lovely memories.
