Happy Birthday to my brother Nick!

I love this photo, I know it's a bit scratchy but I love the story it tells.  I was about 16 here and just loved having my own little baby brother to dress up, this was my version of  'hippy'?  and very 'trendy' fashion.  I knitted us our Mohair jumpers, made our Corduroy pants and I bought those little Desert Boots for Nick as well.  Doesn't he look happy eh!

We have a lot of 13's in our family and I guess now I actually look for it!

Our Uncle Tony was 13 years older than me.
I am 13 years older than my youngest brother Nick. (now you can work out how old Nick is today)
Nick is 13 years older than Nerys.
Nerys is 13 years older than her cousin Hayley, my brother Tim's youngest daughter.
Hayley is 13 years older than her cousin Casey, Nick's youngest.
Casey is 13 years older than her first cousin once removed, Jackson, Nerys' son.
Jackson is 13 years older than his cousin Elodie, Gwilym's youngest.

Now wait for it....   I've just discovered that our Grandmother Mama was 13 years older than her sister and our Great Aunt Nancy aka Cranky!    I just had a little search on Ancestry.com to see who was a close relative and 13 years older than Uncle Tony...  nope, can't find anyone... so that means our lucky streak of 13's starts with our Favourite Uncle Tony!  Yay!
(okay so he was our only blood Uncle but he was still our Favourite!)

On that amazing note... Have a great day Nick, Uncle Nick and Great Uncle Nick where ever you are today.

 My baby brother Nick did, here he is in about 1961 with his well loved Panda and our cousin Marcus with his well loved Truck!!

And here is my baby Grandson Remy with his much loved Panda!  Remy's Panda has a friend called Little Panda.
So what is it with Remy's Great Uncle Nick and Nick's Great Nephew Remy and their love of Panda's!   Have you still got your Panda Nick???

Hey Nick Rodd... you had better be sitting down when you read this post!!

 Without a doubt I have just eaten the best Burger I've eaten since the early 1960's in the 'Alley Cat' Milk Bar at Newport Beach!

Now in the past I have only ever... willingly... gone into this food outlet with children or as everyone says... to use the clean Loo's.

Well by about 12:30pm today we were driving south from Port Macquarie and of course I was needing a Loo, plus I was also a tad hungry.

I'd heard about these Burgers and thought I'll give one a go.  It took me a little time to work out how to order my Burger but a lovely assistant came to my aid and in a short time look what I had before me!!!!!

Now I freely admit to being a fussy eater and I do BTW make terrific Burgers at home myself but this Burger is absolutely without a doubt the best Burger I've had in a long long long time!   

50 plus years ago, when a teenager,  I worked at the 'Alley Cat' Milk Bar at Newport Beach and we made the best Burgers in town... I no longer have to dream of a good burger, now I know exactly where to go when inclined!

Okay so it costs a little more but hey, it's gooood!

Off to Hong Kong for a couple of weeks.

Last night we enjoyed a lovely evening with my niece Madi and her partner Max, (not to be confused with my clowns Max and Min)   I drove Madi and Max to the Airport this morning, they're going to Hong Kong to party with Madi's younger sister Casey while their parents head to the US for a while...  Sounds like it's going to be a fun time in Hong Kong!

Actually when I wrote Peewee above I did hesitate but...  the rest is history.

 Here we are at 7 Field Regiment, Willoughby in 1956, that's me third from left with my arm around Peewee, Meredith has that pretty white bow in her hair and Tim is beside her, the other kids are neighbours and they're all holding Peewee's pups that were born all over Willoughby Park... yes all over... Peewee was playing with us up there and had her pups as she played!!!!  Poor Rosie had to come up and pick them all up.

Yesterday was the last day...

 My baby brother Nick called in on his way back to Dubai.

 The Children bought me these lovely Roses.

Last play day with all the Grand Childen... there were tears :-(  It will be a long long time until we see them all together again and it's been such a successful trip with absolutely everyone playing so happily.
