This morning I saw a photo of a Poddy Lamb wearing a coat on a friends Blog which bought back wonderful memories of our beautiful Sooty.

I was visiting a friends parents Sheep Station out west near Trangie way back in 1979 and there was this beautiful Poddy Lamb needing a home... so quick as a flash she was put in our car and home to the suburbs she came.

We had to feed her using an old beer bottle full of powdered milk, with water added I must add.  When Sooty was this small feeding could be done by the children but as she got older and stronger the kids just couldn't keep hold of the bottle so it was up to me to feed her.

Sooty had a large paddock to play in and behind is a grown up sheep belonging to one of our neighbours, she didn't stay for long, just needed a little holiday I believe.
David did the shearing...
There is a lot more black wool after Sooty's first shearing.

I spun the wool and knitted up a few jumpers, here's our friend Ken helping.

Sooty loved playing cricket but what she loved more was being the Mascot for the children's local Sports Club, being black and white herself she fitted in wonderfully.
