Lovely and seriously yummy day yesterday celebrating Fathers Day with three of our four Fathers.

Last week I was re-reading some of these 84 Letters that David wrote to me back in 1966/7, before we were married, they aren't lovely dovey letters as we were just friends... until the last few letters when we realized we might enjoy a life together... and... I suddenly thought...

Hey, I do love this man!
So I decided to cook a meal of his choice for Fathers Day so asked him what he would like... first up he said... 'Steak and Kidney Pie'... No WAY, Yuck, Yuck, Yuck!  I wasn't going anywhere near kidneys no matter how much I loved this man.
His second choice was 'Moussaka and a Greek Salad', no worries I can handle this and for Dessert 'Creme Brulee'   YUM!

I typed up all these letters back in 2008 for our 40th Wedding Anniversary, a copy of which is in the State Library.

So here's what we enjoyed for Fathers Day.
These sorts of nibbles are my most favourite of any meal!

Now these were seriously yummy, Gwilym said he'd like Crab on the day so I bought a tin of Crab Meat, mixed it with a tin of 'Oyster Paste' that Gwilym had bought for me when in Japan (I can find nothing about this paste online but it was seriously strong in taste with an oyster flavour that's for sure)  and some red caviar on top.

Below are my Vegemite and Cheese Crisps.

Crab and Oyster Paste in different cases with Black Caviar on top.

Now what do we have here... top left, Goats Cheese with Truffle, Cheddar, Quince Paste, then Brie with biscuits, bottom right, Tzatziki, Olive Oil with Zaatar and in the middle on left... Gwilym's delicious Pate!!!

 Greek Salad with Moussaka.

Not a good photo but we did enjoy soaking up all that wonderful Vitamin D while we enjoyed our meal.

David rigged up this Pulley thingy which the boys all loved.

 Remy loving his father???

And for Dessert Creme Brulee, which I didn't get quite right, will have to be more careful next time!
