How does a family celebrate the 225th Anniversary of their Ancestors arrival in Australia?

With a Tea Towel for a start  :-)  I thought this was rather funny, I dug around and found my 200 tea towel and just washed yesterday's 225 tea towel.

This weekend we Celebrated the 225th year since John Cobcroft and Sarah Smith arrived in Sydney Harbour from England... and the Celebrations have been fantastic, we met at St John's church in Wilberforce where a lot of our ancestors, including John and Sarah, are buried.  Warren Luxford a Genologist and School teacher who's Grandmother was a Cobcroft organized an incredible day with so much information and so many stories my head is still spinning.

Below is a photo of about 1/4 of those who attended, more photos coming.
Just some Cousins of mine!

We wore name tags and were colour coded into the ancestors of the children of John and Sarah.  We were blue.  The oldest son of John and Sarah had 10 surviving children, their oldest son Richard William had 8 children before his first wife died, then another 10 children with his second wife.  We are related through the second wife Mary Ann Cross.

Before John and Sarah died at the ages of 97 and 85 respectively, (pretty good when the life expectancy at that time was 45!)  they had 1,200 plus, living relatives from their 10 children!  Wow!!

It's not like the good old days now is it  :-)  Thank goodness!
